Re: Summer savings and absorption post revision
Unless you have a ridiculously low traffic week and your duties were planned by a fool and your rep is an idiot there will always be some scope for lapsing duties under certain circumstances...even if every single member did everything by the book.
If you have no time to lapse on most tuesdays, given indoor and outdoor savings on prep and delivery your duties would have to be over by about 2+ hours every other day.
If they are I suggest you contact Uncle Bob and Moya.

If they genuinely had no time - fine.mandelsons_toenail wrote:Possibly

If they were caught sitting in cafes or bookies etc to waste time, I imagine there would be conduct charges.
And it must be some office if you can get 100 posties to sing from the same song sheet.

Yeah, like those figure's are likely.clashcityrocker wrote:So if your model week was set at 50 000 and on a quiet Tuesday over the summer the traffic is 18 000, there wouldn't be time to lapse?DB1100 wrote:There would be no time to lapse.clashcityrocker wrote:No it wouldn't.DB1100 wrote:If everybody came in at their proper start time and used the correct equipment lapsing would be a thing of the past.

How would you know?DB1100 wrote: Yeah, like those figure's are likely.
If an office has set a high model week to protect full time jobs in their office and the Tuesday is very quiet, then the figures are reasonable.
Change them if you want.
Model week - 40 000. Quiet Tuesday - 28 000.
Still no time to lapse?
But the actual figures are irrelevant to the argument. Your point was if everybody started at the correct time and used the correct equipment, then there would be no time for lapsing.
Your argument has been demonstarted to be complete bullshit.
Agreed.

TBH I don't think it matters one jot what the model week or the traffic figures are unless you are in a strong position in the office union wise it will be pushed and in more cases than not people will do it to avoid confrontation - fast movers will take it anyway and probably complete but it leaves the average Joey in a tenuous position.

It's you who is spouting bullshit, figures don't mean that much, you could still have a high attendance call rate and still be going to most houses so calm down and grow up.You are acting like a spoilt child who can't have his own way.clashcityrocker wrote:How would you know?DB1100 wrote: Yeah, like those figure's are likely.

Without wishing to be rude - either you are both incredibly stupid or you are very blinkered in your thinking.
The fact might be that with 10 000 less items in the office your delivery span might be exactly the same. I accept that.
Even your indoor time might be.
However you need to understand that the corollary of the statement also holds true.
Your delivery span might not be exactly the same.
Consequently the statement - if everyone started at the right time and used the correct equipment there would be no time for lapsing - isn't true for every delivery office in every situation.
It is bullshit.
And if you don't agree I don't really care. I think you are a bit thick and we'll leave it at that.

Re: Summer savings and absorption post revision
Our office is very post revision.
I did everything by the book today, lapsed 30 mins work and still finished 10 minutes early.
The only way I wouldn't have lapsed is if I had deliberately slowed down to a pace that was blatantly wasting time.
That would be dangerous and in my opinion pointless.
I have no problem working my paid hours at a reasonable standard.

I stand by my statement that you are like a spoilt child you come up with these things and try and show that anyone who challenges you is wrong,if my statement isn't true about every delivery office in every situation then so is yours,so your blanket statement is no different to mine, you don't know how every delivery office works,so because someone has a contrary opinion to you ,you think they are a bit thick, prehaps you should look a bit closer to home and question you own assumption that you are the font of all knowledge, lets leave it at that if your ego will allow it.clashcityrocker wrote:Without wishing to be rude - either you are both incredibly stupid or you are very blinkered in your thinking.

Well your planners must have made a better job than mine ,I finished about 10 mins early and spent that putting d2d's or whatever you call it together for tomorrow,we have 5 lots. And I wasn't the last back.fishtank wrote:Our office is very post revision.

I take it you did everything by the book and you still had time to lapse tomorrow's D2D workload?DB1100 wrote:I finished about 10 mins early and spent that putting d2d's or whatever you call it together for tomorrow,we have 5 lots. And I wasn't the last back.
That's all Clash is saying, doing the job properly won't make lapsing go away.
It will certainly reduce the scope especially on busier days when only the idiots have time to do it but when workload is reduced sufficiently there will be lapsing no matter how you do the job.
