Re: Maximum walk time/miles
So I'm walking around 4.5 hrs a day, how many miles do you think that is? As for pain, I've noticed I'm getting back pain all down my right side and an occasional pain on the ball of my foot which I can't put pressure on hard surfaces. I must admit I've never slept better in my life, in bed and out like a light at 9.30. Lost weight as well and can eat like a horse.

I took my sat nav with me today, not so i could find my way but to log the miles i did.Barbel wrote:So I'm walking around 4.5 hrs a day, how many miles do you think that is? I did 3 miles before the batteries went flat, i averaged around 3 mph give or take, so estimate that i cover between 8-10 miles a day.
My back hurts too, and the balls of my right foot. And my Karrimor shoes which were quite new when i started have worn out loads. Hopefully the RM issue mangum boots will hold together a bit better.
And i also have no trouble sleeping now, i probably would worry more about the next day but i am out as soon as my head hits the pillow.
The downside is, housework DIY etc are history as i am too knackered

My round is between 11 and 14 miles
Yet I rode my route obviously with out going up and down drives and stairs and it is 5.4 miles the rest is just going from path to door..

Re: Maximum walk time/miles
Wow so that 8-10 miles is just walking? I've got no idea how fast I'm walking but it isn't particularly slow or fast. I know when I take my dog on a long walk it's about 6 miles and that takes me 2 hours but obviously waking faster than when I've got a trolley full of mail. I'm usually out delivering for 4 hours so I must be doing nearly the same as you.widowmaker wrote:I took my sat nav with me today, not so i could find my way but to log the miles i did.Barbel wrote:So I'm walking around 4.5 hrs a day, how many miles do you think that is? I know what you mean about being too knackered to do anything when you get home. The last thing I want to do is housework, shopping & dog walking but unfortunately living in a house full of men I've got no choice.

i walk at 1.72 mph so i must be slow then and i been in job since mid 2010widowmaker wrote:I would estimate that i am walking 3-4 mph, i just used the 2mph to make a minimum comparisonDGP1 wrote:If you're only doing 2mph then you're too slow.............the official speed is 6.4kph so you'd better get your skates onwidowmaker wrote:Jesus, 7.5 hoursDGP1 wrote:7.30 hours is the maximum for outside work.
I've been doing 5 hours plus on delivery for the past 5 years, you get used to it......just remember the painkillers in the morning before you go out![]()
Ill think myself lucky then, is there a maximum miles, if i average 2mph thats 10 miles![]()
If thats the case ill buy a disability scooter in RM red![]()

And I've done up to 13 miles in a day but usually it's down at about 9 miles a day but there is no maximum, the only thing that is a maximum is your hours at work, you just work to your finishing time and then stop (it's a bit more complicated than that, you need to tell the manager before you go out and prepare for them to try to bully you into doing it but it is your ultimate option).
