What do I do report my Dom for being incompetent.?

I'm fully into all the tools etc

I'm not a manager however and discussions with staff regarding where they are needed isn't my job

Were you not involved in the planning, where the hours were going in or going out did you not sign it off as agreed, did you take a vote on the revision?

Yeah rounds tested in georoute and ips and prep times calculated from iwt and mail counts, attendance calls also counted.



When there are only so many hours something has to give. So either the most junior postie on seniority comes out of office ( contract isn't for set office btw) or we make more people in spdo part time, and some ft posties become part time, it's pretty simple?

I have to question whether the spdo has many union members? My job as a rep is to try and look after my members isn't it? Or am I supposed to support everyone? Assist every single rm employee even if they are not a union member?

Ive stood on many a picket over the years, what for? I may as well not be a member then if not being a union member entitles me to the perk of a reps assistance.

You can't have it both ways? One out all out surely?

The problem with my office and spdos are that people will quite happily take all the benefits and all the money and bonuses but won't pay a couple of quid a week to support the union that in turn helps keep terms and conditions up and keeps people on decent wages and a union that tries its best and when and if a strike is called they will quite happily work and disregard those workers who's kids aren't eating, who's bills aren't being paid and who has sleepless nights over money.

I'm alright jack attitude. It's not on.

These bloody revisions have almost killed me and I try so hard but so many people to try and please.

However I also feel incompetent management haven't helped and nor has the lack of management support for our smaller offices over the years

As a rep you have two jobs.
One is to represent your existing members.
Two is to encourage non-members to join.

It's a delicate balance sometimes but if you allow one to encroach on the other eventually you end up in a room talking to the only other member in the union.
Would i screw over my members to buy a few more subs for the union...no.
Would i screw over non/potential-members to protect existing members....no.

Ah ok. Put it this way over a hundred and forty staff and one job escaped me until last week, and my Dom mislead me on that issue.

Also when you visit an spdo like twice in a year it's hard to keep everyone in the loop and a bloody balancing act at that.

Sometimes whole offices feel let down over one thing and another and that's not always the unions fault is it?

Over 50% inthe office are union member's, several people have tried to join the union with no avail As our Rep knows I was a rep, do not accept rubbish said to me, I just felt that we are being treated with contempt by all. He knows I like him but do not tolerate the way he went about this,I felt disappointed.
