Without a paper trail there's no way of showing that you've addressed the first instance and cannot therefore address a second one! A formal discussion ending with a signed agreement by the OPG not to re-offend is how it's done at my DO.fishtank wrote:Difficult to say but i would imagine to tick all the boxes it would have to involve a paper trail at least to determine whether there were any personal physical reasons why you couldn't use the trolley or whether there were any walk related issues.TrueBlueTerrier wrote:But does the "counselling" have to be a formal sit down in my office type interview or could a quick conversation at the frame such as "saw you using a pouch yesterday - don't do it again" be considered enough.

I think you would be going down the blind alley of requiring proof there Himaggen.Himaggen wrote:Without a paper trail there's no way of showing that you've addressed the first instance and cannot therefore address a second one.
A manager could say he's counselled a member for a first offence, then discipline the member for the second offence and whether it stuck would be down to the appeals manager and his "reasonable belief" as to whether the first counselling session actually took place.
Questions would obviously be asked why there was no paper trail or witnesses which would seriously weaken the management position and it's unlikely it would stick but there are very few "cannot" positions in the conduct code unfortunately.
good times, bad times you know I've had my share

so you cannot finish on time using lwt . then tell DOM before you go out you cannot finish. lwt in fact any trolleys add ages to a walk. if they want to play that game then use lwt but you should have told dom you could not finish on time then let him/ her sort it out. just waiting for the time I am required to use lwt then I will not be able to finish

Re: conducted for carrying a bag HELP ????
All our office should be on a conduct code offense then, as our revision came in 2 years ago and at first trolleys was used, now they are rusting in the yard ,management turns a blind eye, even the DSM until it suits(a guy at ours was off with a bad back went to stage 3...first question from DSM "Was you using a trolley" even though he knows for a FACT no f****r in ours uses them..result guy sacked
Now they are at it again with we will be using the trolleys next week after somebody blabbed to the local M.P about not using correct working methods
.
Wonder how long the `policing` of managers coming out in vans checking will last?
I give it a month at most(more likely two weeks)before they are all sat on their arse eating fish and chips in the office.

Well that all depends upon who gets the job as DSM, since it's currently up for applicants!BoltonPostie wrote:Wonder how long the `policing` of managers coming out in vans checking will last?![]()

Re: conducted for carrying a bag HELP ????
as a rep I get fed up asking posties to use correct methods. we have the usual early starters and runners and all it does is create issues as we cannot get true picture of what is happening with deliveries and ask for corrections

do the job properly dont try to save yourself 5 mins by using a bag and end up getting months of grief, stress and hassle.
