WTF is wrong with some branches? The sheep invite the wolf in to the pen for dinner! PMSL you could not make it up.

Is it really that wrong to have her in attendance?
I think it is a good coup for the branch to have the Chief Executive in a room with the rank and file membership so that they can question her face to face on what is going on within Royal Mail.
A good opportunity for colleagues to get things off there chest imho,i hope there is a good turn out and not just the same old faces who turn up year after year.

You know it'll be stage managed, the only way for those bosses to actually understand the problems is to talk to the mouthy, loud mouth ones.........this site has quite a few who would explain the problems but then we wouldn't/couldn't because we really don't want to lose our jobs.

so what's so wrong. at least she is being courageous enough to put her head above the parapet. when did we ever have a CEO at a union meeting. She is very keen on having proper relationships between union and managers somthing managers do not like. so let's get a bit more mature about it.

The union is seen as a tool by Royal Mail senior management...nothing more.
There is nothing shocking or even frightening in that statement,it has been the way of business since unions became part of the picture.
Problems only arise when that fundamental truth is ignored by either side.
They are not our friends,our saviour,our colleagues because they are driven by an underlying focus to measure success by profit which puts you and i in the firing line and means we are ultimately dispensable units of cost not people.
Maturity comes with experience,look at the experiences of Moya's previous employees at Canada Post and Bombadier and ask them how cuddly she is.
Who told you she is very keen on having proper relationships between union and managers...and ask yourself why.

Some question the fact why is a chief executive going to a Branch AGM and I can understand that but I think some members would like to ask why the office she is speaking in is closing within a.6 months.

Now Dave Ward own Branch is London South West and his old delivery office is Tooting.

Some people are obviously easily pleased..........she is going to say all the right things - it will be an oral version of the courier with a wonderful pretence of sincerity. It's time some of the bigwigs realised it IS them and us...............and why - simply because their aspirations are entirely different to the rank and file. There will obviously be your usual bunch of arse lickers in the audience applauding every word. I think it should be filmed for CWUTV and RMTV unedited and we can see exactly how close a relationship there is. It's pretty obvious that the leadership have lost sight of the old adage "know your enemy".

I told you would not have been my choice to invite her but equally I can understand why she has been, now I think sometimes members want to hear from their chief executive and question her and given the state aid decision this week it does obviously help if you can question her.

Of course most Branc Secretaries , area reps , divisional rep and PEC members will be in Birmingham on Monday and Tuesday to hear her and Mark Higson give their update and vision of the future and question them. However Sunday is for the members to question her.

Who gets the profit?
How much profit will ever be enough?
Will RM or the shareholder ever pay their debts and cough up the amount they siphoned off during their 13 year "holiday" from pension contributions plus the lost interest?
Given this governments revolutionary penchant for retrospective legislation ,what cast iron guarantees will be given that they don't piss the members £28 billion hard earned savings up the fat cat tax break wall and then say oops?

My question would be .why is she letting over zealous managers harass intimidate break there agreements threatened workers with conduct ,dismissal ,Ihr ,and how many hundreds or thousand jobs are at risk if royal mail get there way and privatisation comes in .Why do so many of her workers feel disenchanted with there jobs and why r so many taken rm to et .
