but how can you come to an opinion that a rep is bad if you do not know what is involved in being a rep to begin with

thats abit like saying that you can't have an opinion on David Cameron unless you've been Prime minister.

Why the pro Rep rant, enzio believes that his Rep is ignoring National Rules to get what he wants and it appears that with no supporting information you are siding with the Rep.

The Rep is only there to represent the Members, they should not ignore National Agreements and should ensure that any decision which may directly affect them is at the very least put to the vote before being implemented.

i totally agree so if a member is not satisfied with the rep, the member should tell the rep

Being a rep isn't some mystical science keith....it's not one of those blanket "there's a lot more to it" things.
If you're a decent rep there's a lot more to it,if you're a piss-taking,lazy useless waste of time there's nothing more to it and you don't have to be a scientist to spot one of those.

Totally agree, if you don't follow National Guide Lines don't put up for a rep !!!!!!!.......
Our rep comes in early, does the job in his car and yes he is a runner

, complete waste of time. Surely any rep should set the example to members...... He IS doing the job for his own ends, has a wonderful arrangement with the DOM if and when HE wants anything, and like I have told him is a disgrace to the trade union movement. So they are out there. If a member feels the rep is under performing/not following National guide lines, he should have the right to raise a complaint. I know the rep is not paid for his troubles (should be in my opinion) but members are paying for a service and should receive that service.
By the way I have complained to area, got nothing only a telling off for complaining about him even after hearing he breaks Nat Guidelines every single day without exeption

and we are in the process of having him removed via a vote of no confidence....... However I still maintain there are some excellent unit reps out there thank goodness
