"What is the point" was the original subject which then became "Union Sell-Outs - Disbelief and Dialectics - so I was confused at the outset and then some perfectly innocuous posts were deleted at what can only be considered a whim.

I read that title and thought it was something about Scientology, so I didn't bother with it

Many topics go off topic,not a problem as a whole but random made a thread and then edited/deleted parts of it because of what happened in it.
I deleted the off topic parts and have given random the opportunity to carry on if he wishes.

Very very rare it happens as you all know.

Hi POSTMAN when you deleted off topic threads you deleted all my last few posts as well! I tried to PM TBT with this but could not!

A certain RMC member jumps on many things i post with his bit of fun if it starts getting any decent number of hits and starts his cr*p joke stuff but offers nothing in return! I have asked him to leave me alone and start his own joke thread but he keeps doing it! TBT has nicely asked him to back off in other threads but still he comes back and does it again. To me he is worse than the *man as RMC ignore what he does but shuts down *man! Why? A troll is a troll no matter who they are! The other part you deleted was my small point about Bullying and Harassment and the problems the union have with when Harassment stops and Bullying starts! My question is why bother to post on RMC when the site owners and moderators let some trolls get away with it but not others. I dont often post in fun but do mostly post because i want to chat about the subject in hand not have it taken over by some clown but sadly RMC allow it to happen. The new point of this post is "What is the point?" So tell me what is the point when the joker of RMC can take over a post with his banal crap and the site owners let him do it? Like all bullies he makes excuses and defends himself but we all know that general and constant crap like that is nothing less than at best harassment but can be viewed as bullying. Other way round - Random changed the title of the first post which changed the thread title.

Common Forum protocol which is sometimes used on RMC is that the Original Poster can ask for a thread to be deleted or amended. Random started the thread and thought the topic had gone off at a tangent and some posts that were considered OT were deleted. Nothing wrong or sinister in that, its rare on RMC but is common practice on other forums.

However, RMC does have a tendency for some serious threads to go off topic with comedic remarks, as most forums do. Occasionally Postman me and the other moderators will step in and try to bring a thread back. I unfortunately did not see the deleted posts so cant comment on them, but what I would ask is that posters try to match the general character of a thread, and perhaps post only relevant information or opinions.

Perhaps also this thread can be a salutatory lesson at least to me, that funny posts are not always appropriate, and that other people can view actions by other members in a completely different light than what was originally intended. We won't all see eye to eye on everything but at least we can all review our posts and try to see them as others would.

This whole thread makes no sense. I can't remember everyhting that has been removed but I see that I now have a post, 'I know my place', out there in the wilderness, meaning absolutely nothing. As I recall, I was responding to a couple of posts about the class system. Anyone familiar with the old TV show TW3 would get the reference which, as in the original sketch is comedic with a serious political message behind it. It made sense when I posted it. It makes little sense now. I can understand the removal of abusive posts etc, I on't understand the removal of posts because they have gone 'off topic'.
