IMO they do not have the bollox to force through the later starts.
They know it will mean ALL OUT and they are shitting a brick and thats why they knew they had to engage the CWU in talks or face horrendous unrest.
Remember one other thing that is very very important the CWU are NOT opposed to later starts and that very much flies in the face of the majority of its members. That will be a very bitter pill to swallow for .......?

I think the CWU are just being realistic here, lets be honest, anyone who's worked for RM for some time will know that if they want something like this in place then sooner or later it will come in, whether through this agreement or snuck in the back door somewhere along the line. . . . what we need to do is take control of how it comes in, how it affects us and make sure it doesn't cost us . . . . I personally don't want them at all but it's better that we control it now than get it forced upon us later on.

I know this view will be contentious so off you go, let me have it . . . . . . . :d'oh!

Okay then mr (i listen to you all) Leighton Send out a voting form asking who wants to start at 5 and who wants to start at 6? So bloody petty it is unbeliveable. You go and deliver an urgent letter at 3 in the afternoon and see the abuse you get. Since the 1900's posties have always started early in the morning. Part and parcel of the job.We knew what we were taking on.So what exactlly our you going to gain from later starts. Special dels by one o clock! Dream on! I would have to go of route. JUST GIVE US A FLIPPING PAY RISE. That's all we our asking.PS has anyone seen how much TNT charge for a by miday service? Heard it was £45 :funneh

We were also told that the later starts are coming in 17th Sept, whenever I challanged my DUM about no EA during the negotiations but he said that it wasn't going to introduced until AFTER the period of calm. I missed the other WTLL group which is a much more vocal group (I was alone in questioning the DUM). Surely the union should be doing something about this because this directive is coming down from :lfo :cfo and they should suspend this unless they want us out on the streets. :mad :mad :mad :evil/mad :evil/mad

your dum has to notify you all individually, by letter, giving you the 28 days notice . . . . as he cannot take this step until after 4th Sept he absolutely cannot get late starts in on 17th Sept. . . . it'll be early Oct at the earliest now

My DUM tried to force those into my office (it was to get rid of 2 vans) but we forced him to back down, it now seems that they just want to move the goalposts.....again. :no no :no no

We are having a vote on fixed duties and rotating days off.

Curently have 2 week rotate duties with fixed day off.

RM want fixed duties and if the majority of CWU members want rotating days off then they can have them.
