Overtime can only be tolerated if everyone has an equal opportunity to do it. Otherwise management will only allocate overtime to the most productive, regardless of need.
Totally Agree with you Minister.
The old chestnut of why is everyone having to cover work on overtime? Why don't we make some PTers up, or God Forbid actually recruit someone on FT hours!
I think the answer is that RM are happy to pay the OT (let's face it it's a crap rate, do you think they'd pay so much if it was Time and a half?) even for 11 months of the year if during the remaining month everyone's slapped back down to their contracted hours!
