I think the union dug themselves a hole by saying that if RM entered meaningful negotiation's they would call off the strikes. RM have called their bluff and the PEC had no choice but to Suspend the strikes. Tactically this position was good for the union as it made the RM look like the bad guys. However strategically it may come back and bite them.

Now is not the time for faint hearts we trusted the union this far and they know how hard we fought. After previous episodes I don't see the Union coming up with a deal that would effectively be comitting suicide, and cause members to quit en mass.

I am entirely pissed off with the lack of communication from the union over the duration of this dispute, I have no confidence that this latest episode is going to resolve anything and I forecast a mass exodus from the union as a result! What will happen after that.........see u on the dole queue!
well i have to agree with you thier mate i also think that these talks will get us nowhere i also believe that no matter what we will be hung out to dry your right about the unions communications aswell they have been first class s**t and if anything put me against them i will never cross the picket lines and i will support my fellow workers but for me the union sucks and i think that :cfo :lfo will win most the negotiations i will watch and see and then decide weather to stay in the union or put my money into a savings scheme for me not for the labour party :no no
