have i been sacked unfairly? how do i appeal?

yeah i know but hes paid me my holidays up till my 6month mark, still seems unfair to do the review before the 6month mark though i would have thought

just found out the DOM was moved to my office (a small office) from a larger office due to the fact he was bullying people, i did not know about this untill today. surely this should help my case?

he told nobody! never even told the SOM. never told ANYBODY in the office. never had anybody present.
the union have spoke and made me appeal. ive wrote to my DOM appealing. and sent a statement of the interview to the union rep from cwu and to SOM.
THE UNION WERE LAUGHING AT HOW HE HAS HANDLED THIS, THEIR WORDS WERE I WISH YOU'D BEEN THEIR 12MONTH AS ID LOVE TO REPRESENT YOU IN COURT AND WATCH THE JUDGES FACE AS YOU EXPLAINED THE HARRASMENT YOUR BOSS HAS GIVEN YOU.

next stage is an interview with myself, local and area union rep the DOM and SOM.
HOPEFULLY WILL BE RE EMPLOYED.
WILL KEEP U FELLOW POSTIES UP TO DATE

I'm not sure of the legalities or if it's admissable evidence,
but most mobile phones have voice recorders on them,
it might be handy for you to use one the next time you are interviewed,
i think if you wanted to video someone, thats not admisable,
the other person would have to be aware he/she is being filmed and given their consent,
but i think audio recording is allowed (but not sure).

Actually I think, and this is only my opinion so please check up on the law if you are thinking of recording an interview/meeting, that there has been a misunderstanding of the law as it stands.

Tape recording an interview without the permission or knowledge of the other party is fine as long as the tape itself is not going to be used as evidence. The legal question is not if taping is legal or not, but if the tape itself is admissible as evidence.

I think you are allowed to record a conversation and then transcribe it. What you do with the recording after that I suppose is up to your own conscience.

There is a page that has details on recording telephone conversations and that basically says recording telephone conversation without consent is fine as long as a 3rd party is not going to hear the recording - I think that would be applicable to a meeting where only those present would have a view as to the accuracy of the transcript. http://www.retellrecorders.co.uk/legal/home.htm" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

If you are going to record a conversation though please check the legalities before doing so and don't take my view as gospel, I might have it wrong.

i got given my 6month review yesterday. ive been their 5 month and 1 week.
i failed my review on 2 grounds. firstly and mainly because i had 2week off on the sick due to ripping a muscle in my back while on duty, i did not want to take 2week off. told my DOM i did not want any sick time but work forced me to take two week off on the sick. now they tell me 2week is over the acceptable time limit. even though it was not my choice.

secondly.. failure to finish delivering packets. in my office their is packets left over EVERY DAY very rarely do all the packets get delivered and they just build up. the DOM is fine and encourages this as long as all tracked and specials have been delivered.
i had very limited training on packets (approx 6 hours training) and after 2 counselling sessions about the packet duty i have explained both times i am not confident in doing packets due to lack of knowlage of the area and dont know were half the addresses are but my manager consistently put me on them despite me asking not to.
the last month has felt like my DOM has deliberitley made my job hard. and i've stuck in as ive allways wanted a job on the post, now as fast as it was given to me the manager i was stuck with has stamped out my career.im gutted to say the least.

after failing my review he then sacked me (said not keeping me on) he was alone during this interview.. no option for a union member to be present and i didn't think to ask as i had no idea this was coming. i refused to sign the review sheet and the secrecy sheet. but he said "you will sign it now- or i will get RM security and police involved and theyll come to your house and force you to sign it" very very abruptly.
i want to be a post man and now hes ripped mt career away. the last thing he said is. dont even try appeal or go to solicitor or citizens advice as you are not allowed to appeal againt my decision. he wouldnt allow me to take a copy of my review. said it was unallowed even though i have a copy of my 3month review.
please help....what can i do?
