Travelling time should be built in to get back regardless if it's for a break or to just finish shouldn't it?

Out of interest where do you stand on the subject do you think RM are being totally unreasonable not allowing us to add 20 min upwards to our breaks by not allowing travelling time back to office to take it.
I think although it would be better to return to the D.O....it's not really practical.
Our D.O. covers about 25miles and that through lunchtime traffic is not going to happen.
I'm quite happy to park up and visit my local caf'...where i deliver to...and get freebies from.

I take it your answer to the question I posed Fishtank, Postman is yes.
Now DV knows the secret of your 4 hour span on 10 hour day. Travelling to and fro from office for meal breaks & toilet breaks through that busy London traffic, surprised you can manage 4 hours with all that to contend with

It isn't and never has been built into any agreement...travelling there and back yes...breaks...no.
The fact that you have it at your place.....means nothing to me as it's a local thing
We don't have agreements to go over 3.30hr deliveries either.

We agree. And why travel back to a microwave, when as you say we have so many customers just aching to show their gratitude towards us and it's not just free lunches round here

Well my point is every duty now (i am guessing,cause it will be down my place) will have to return to the office because of the vans and also for our colleagues to pick their cars up.
Now obviously some could be dropped off on the way back,to say a bus stop ect but on 'paper' every one will be coming back.
If you are then scheduled (like they will be at my place if we keep the 10hr thing) to have their part meal relief at the end then so be it.
Why because your travelling time is say 25mins away should it not happen,you still need the travelling time back regardless.

I'm talking about people travelling all the way out to their delivery stopping for their meal break half way through their delivery,travelling all the way back for their break,travelling all the way back out again to their delivery and then travelling all the way back to finish.
That's a hell of a lot of travelling time...even just typing it ...and there is no way you will get it..

Ok i see,why would they be split,is it because of the size they could be?
On a 4hr 'outside duty' you could get away with having your 2nd meal break at the end of the duty like my place.
Anything above that is,well i don't know what it would be like.
I personally and i very much doubt my office as well would want to take a break in a fecking van as per Fish's 'Duty content Shared van deliveries' post.
Would 'we' get the travelling time back for it,feck knows,but we will try our hardest.

Ok fishtank thanks for the reply but heres a few questions on your duty No 1 service of your van 13 to 19 mins allowed drivers manual ,so were do you get the time to check van load it in ten No2 your meal break forget about it being 35 your 20 mins in the van canr not count as a break because your not away from yor work place check the link No 3 your 10 mins to return to your office park and log your van and bring any items ie wdl and your pda no way
