That's gotta be utter b*llocks (I think that's the legal phrase) about making up hours if you recklessly go and get yourself ill.
Would they attempt to get someone on a Mon-Fri duty to come in Sat/Sun if they were ill for two days during the week ? NO
Have Royal Mail bosses been inspired by watching DVDs of 'Life On Mars' and been time-warped back to the Victorian age all of sudden ?
FIGHT THIS. EVERY CWU MEMBER IS BEHIND YOU !!!

The DSM has given us an "assurance" that people who were changed to a 5 day week would be put back on 6 if they wanted, that existing work patterns will be retained, that only new starters will go on 5 days, and that people who lost days through sickness will get them back. He also said to the whole office with the DUM listening that these practices (re sickness) were wrong and would stop, which looked like he was giving the DUM a public bollocking. But he won't sign the agreement with the union binding him to these things. And we don't know to what extent the DSM and the DUM are doing a double act for our benefit.
The DUM is convinced that 5 weeks on and 1 off is responsible for the high sickness rate at NDO, and the DSM is backing him. He's on a f*cking mission.
