TEAMWORKING is a NO NO :no no And all the strings with the pay deal the same :no no The Job and knock culture will kill our jobs stone dead.....
No doubt about it..... AND THAT MEANS ALL OF US.... NOT JUST THE RUNNERS AND EARLY BIRDS... This Union needs to put a WAY OF WORKING plan in place to safeguard our jobs for a future... OR THERE WONT BE ONE. FULL STOP... This WAY OF WORKING plan needs to be our mantra. Every day we all need to THINK OF OUR JOBS LONG TERM... Not just The Student who will feck off after canning the O/T. for 2yrs and off too uni.. Not even the housewife who gets 16hrs, (much needed i agree) But the full time workers need a solid base to start from. Then the PART TIMERS can work YES.. But th union has to stop encouraging RM to employe P/T staff.. But this is and has been the problem from the day the last cadet and old ways of working when P/T never could sign for Full timers overtime... The unions buckled under european law.. And RM pushed this... But forgot the working hours reductions funny enough.... then asked everyone to sign a waver to the max hrs worked... CLEVER..... :d'oh! Im not here to have a go at P/T Or the union but this has to be looked into.... Then and only then can ROYAL MAIL AND THE WORKERS HAVE THE RIGHTS WE DESERVE... Yes P/T has a place in this business but not at the detrement of the FULL TIMER WITH ONLY ONE JOB... I feel the playing field is uneven and this is the reason...

We all have a fight on our hands and the 318 is the ONLY WAY FORWARD.. Any early birds or car users and runners need to listen.. Or get out of this union as it will only weaken all of us... Now we cant all chuck any of these people out.. SADLY... But we can always put the thoughts in them constantly ... Tell them (NICELY) that they are killing our jobs... They have to listen or DISCARD THEM FROM THE UNION RANKS... IGNORE THEM AND REPS REFUSE TO BACK THEM JUST BE A GHOST TO THEM.... YOUR EITHER WITH US OR AGAINST US.. GET OFF THE GUVNORS BAND WAGON AND PICK YOUR SIDE ONCE AND FOR ALL..... :pray :pray :pray

OUT.............

UNITY OF THE STRONG IS ALL THE TOOLS WE NEED TO WIN..

cant believe i am hearing what u are saying mate, youve obviously been coverin your ears, right now you are sacrificin a few days money. Now lets say we dont fight them, result you are now on 25% less money every week with 40% more work for nowt.

As it is at the moment you would lose your early morning payment of £12 odds every week, the union are fighting to have that included in your weekly wage even if we move to 6.15am starts, now maybe i am not getting it but right away i would say that you have just landed yourself a £12 pay rise, cause without the union you would now not have it.

Money for D toD and Election materials.

Under Leighton say goodbye but the union is fighting to retain these payments.

The one thing that you have to stop thinking is that the union can do everything, even the union realise that change is needed and we are going to come out of this with more work to do.

Difference is that wavering and not backing the union to the hilt will allow LEIGHTON to make u do it all for free, while at the same time thinking, got them where i want them, now what can i impose on them next year.

At least sticking tight with the union we have a chance to minimise what is going to happen to us and come out of it with some monetary benefits.

I do hope that you take a long look at all the strings that are attached to accepting the deal they are asking us to accept, cause if you do it should make you s**t yourself. Then you will realize why we must stay strong.

Good point Biggazza, no more early starts and missing breaks when they realise it will only get them more work, I'm fed up of seeing 'em going home when I have still nearly half a walk to do because I stick to the rules.

So true biggazza :dance I do not know of any other company that has job and finish :d'oh! I work 40 hrs a week get paid 40 hrs a week. I accept that. But it totally p***s me of when i see others doing 30 hrs for the same money :mad Even have people doing ther own duty, then covering some one of sick. And claiming ghost overtime as they have done it all within 8 hrs :d'oh! You watch the doms come down on them like a ton of bricks saying "well you can do that in eight hours. Here is your new duty .

things like teamworking and summer lapsing will only work if every individual wants it to . remember the starburst trials, you only need one person to throw a spanner in the works and the whole things f****d up. come on leighton we're not a fine tuned premiership football team. we're men and women of all ages and speeds, get round the table and sort out a compromise deal that will suit all of us while you still can.

Here's a classic quote from the early brigade. '' If i don't come in early i won't get prepped in time''. There are staff in my office who say this. I've been rep for a year and a half now. Since day one i've been banging on about doing the job right. I get leave reserves saying ''if i had my own walk i'd come in at 5 o clock like you''. Some people think they're obliged to complete the duty. I think for our benefit, the union should negotiate the removal of job and knock. The stress levels in my office after the missorts are cleared go through the roof. Staff shouting at the LM to open the cage for the specials. Jockeying for position in the line.
I've got to the stage where i let them get on with it, but when duties get taken out, they'll only have themselves to blame.

You have hit the nail on the head there cruisey :cool It's like a grand prix in my office. "oh look i am first out of office, quicker than you saddoes. I'll be home whilst you still working :nana for the same money" I know for a fact that DOM sees this and is just waiting to clamp down on it.Who else will give you 8 hours pay for doing 6 hrs work?? Watch out :Very Happy

Thing is sometimes I see one of our runners where our rounds meet or when he is waiting for the bus when he has finished and sweat is pouring of him and he looks knackered. I'd rather take it steady and do it to time so that I don't fall asleep in the afternoon and miss all the banter on here. Sad ain't I, maybe, but not as sad as him.
