70000 posties on strike, how many were on the picket line? I know that out of my office of twenty only average of two/strike although 100% out .

For Gods sake face facts none of the issues have been addressed - remember Caesar washing his hands - well you've just witnessed the 21st century equivalent.

Never mind how many were on the picket line - how many full time union officials visited the picket line, and how many crossed the picket line, and how many supported the union by staying away? And what was their reward?

Restoration of my original contract and hours of work. A workable workload, and Management who treat people with respest and dignity.. Ha.Ha. for about three years now, since this dignity and respect thing was brought out, there has
been a 'contract' to this hung on our canteen wall---only one person has put theie name down--and no Managers signatures!

Ah yes the dignity and respect at work groups went the same way as the daily huddle groups where the daily toil was supposed to be explained and justified - but hey why would you need that sort of thing in this day and age - and especially now when the "interim agreement" has erm been agreed?

Ah-yes, the daily huddle--what a fiasco that was!! don't get me remembering all the stupid things this company have tried to introduce---all fallen by the wayside. to be fair, for a short time after this dignity and respect came in, some managers tried to be nice--they actually said, in a strangled way, good morning when you came in, and tried to bid us have a nice day! Didn't last!

they call them muddles at ASDA , the word was that :lfo 's " New Wave Management " wasn't exactly a success . That's why they got Bryden in who is more conservative but still a wolf in sheep's clothing and/ or part of a nice cop / bad cop team

Shouldn't this topic be more about what we want out of phase 4 and whether it was right to have a interim agreement to keep us going untill a full agreement can be made?


Im happy with the concept of interim agreement and support the content based on where my office is at in terms of change, but every office is different so does it cover off the full range of issues which can vary from MC to MC and DO to DO?

B and H has been mentioned and yes the agreement could do with being stonger in that area.

There is a fine line between large minority and small majority, have Dave and the PEC manged to support the majority/get the majority on side?

The national briefing will give us some indication of the feeling of the union across the country.

I would have liked all EA taken by RM stopped and put back as was before and then for RM to ngotiat properly! Not a review of all EA taken against us where if we are honest with ourselves we know RM will just say its the right thing for Royal Mail so do One you bums in January. Our pensions should have been a major part of this because its not just RM but the Government that have stolen them and its them that need to do the decent thing. A shorter working week maybe paid for by D2Ds? These people only recognise strength and alls HQ have shown is weakness yet again.

I don't know when you had EA foisted on you but the statement clearly says "imposed during 2009" well we had ours imposed in 2008 so that would presumably leave us out. I would really like to see how the Reps are going to perform in these new era of localised negotiation - it didn't work out too well last time.
