Yes the third allocation had not taken place when talks started so CWU were able to persuade RML to do something different. I recall legal barriers prevented doing something different with allocation 1 and 2 as they had already been made.
Based on how many shares currently held for a OPG who was FT at both allocations and the current share value then the £1000 is superior in monetary terms at this moment in time. The value of RM will have to increase somewhat to make the £1000 a inferior sum money.
Time will tell.
How do you know this Daz....have you seen figures or are you just basing this on what you have been told.
The 3rd allocation was due to be paid in 2009 and the talks did not start until December 2009 so someone is stretching the truth a little.
Over the five-year life of the Plan, you could receive up to £5,300, from the ColleagueShares and Stakeholder Dividends combined, as a reward for your help in making the changes that we need for a successful future.
Given that what we have left is worth a little over £1000 and as far as i can remember(to be confirmed) we have had £1600 in dividends then with the transformation lump sums....that makes about £3,600 all in.
Now i'm prepared to accept that the company may not be worth what was hoped but that is still a large shortfall in anyone's eyes.

It is very confusing POSTMAN and to be honest i'm not sure how legal it all is.
How about we find out from the source?
I am a full-time OPG with Royal Mail and was at the time of the original issue of colleague shares and i was wondering if you could provide me with the following information.
How many shares i currently hold and their value?
How much has been paid out to me in dividends?
What the final instalment would have been had it not been incorporated into the transformation lump sums?
What were the actual instalment dates and their value?
I would be grateful if you could help me with this matter.
Will see if we get a reply.
Good stuff men....
Appears a lot of confusion (how can you have shares in something that has no shares anyway haha) thanks for the replies
.Hopefully they get back to you fish.
You are only as good as the last letter you delivered

They have already...They are sending it out to me.
I will write to you including the information you require. We cannot send personal information to external email addresses as we have no way of verifying the email address. To do so would cause us to contravene the Data Protection Act.

Your current allocation is 711 shares comprising 408 shares issued in 2007 and 303 shares issued in 2008 which were until recently worth £1.51 each. There is currently a re-evaluation underway at the moment so the current value is unknown until this is finished.
You have received £600 in Local dividends and £600 in Group dividends split up as follows
£400 for each dividend was paid on 30/5/08 and £200 on 29/5/09,in total £1200 gross.
The final dividends were replaced by the Pay Deal Lump Sum of £400 replacing the final dividends of £200 Local and £200 Group.
The third share issue was converted into a cash payment and went towards the £1000 Transformation Bonus Payments currently underway. The number of shares which would have been issued is unknown but may have been similar to the second issue.
Yours faithfully
ColleagueShare Team.
So it is much as we guessed...the only money left in the colleague share pot is your 711 shares(pro-rata) currently valued at £1.51 per share but subject to change.
These will be bought back by the company in two equal portions in 2011 and 2012.
The ColleagueShare plan which was estimated to be worth up to £5,300 in the end was worth something like £3,500.
That's all and hopefully this draws a line under the whole sorry mess.

These colleagueshares are a red herring anyway. If we accept them we cant benefit for at least 5 years and with Crozier/Leighton and their cutbacks how many of us will be left. At best Adam and Al are being disingenuous and at worst its fiddling the books so they don't have to give us a decent pay rise for 5 years.
What's the betting that for 4 years we'll be doing so good that it will be exactly as they say and the dividends will be excellent. Then surprise surprise in the final year the value shoots down and they don't have to pay quite as much as we were expecting.

Funny as f**k,our blood money was ours in the 1st place with near enough all the cash we'll get in this deal!

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been. My BFF Clash The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.
