Lets cut out the middle ground and go straight for the House of Lords - I just wonder what his title could be - Lord of the Pies, Lord of the Onion Rings, Lord Lardarse of Liverpool - there must be a multitude of choices for him.

exactly ,I'm afraid he either comes over as a caricature of a caricature and/or a gross stereotype - if it's not that , it's the naughty boy sent to the Headmaster . A good tub thumper but it's not the 80's anymore & the Thatcher era was a playground for some people , a born union beaurocrat and Labourite but I'm not really sure if they'd necessarily want him now . He's been lucky but he's done a lot off the back of the Liverpool branches but not the only one from there to do that

there's the Strangers Bar in the commons - was it £1.40 a pint or something - he'd be good at "quality control " " sampling " . He sounds if he's been just chucked out of a Lime St bar

Problem is, he doesn't thump tubs anymore--just picks up his fat pay check, ans like Nero, sits and fiddles while we get sent down the Swanee.

Problem is that he has been reelected unopposed , The CWU is a " arranged marriage " between the UPW & UCW , maybe the Telecoms staff love him , there was some in BT that certainly didn't like Johnson .

Again to get rid of him , you'd need big branches to do no confidence motions as with AJ .

The word from other trade unionists is that the CWU membership is a very demanding one and the CWU is difficult to lead as you're fighting on so many fronts , they do envy the support of the CWU i.e. the RMT is only really strong in London . ( Don't shoot the messenger ! ) - RM's senior management certainly think it is too strong hence the continued attacks .

I agree with Kay the big bird that the problem with HQ is that it's years since they did a duty .

Maybe a safe toilet seat would be more apprpriate, he could always have the same gold one as John Prescott.

Yes, it is a demanding job, but surely he knew this before he took it on? So far in his leadership, what have we seen?Jobs vanishing like snow, conditions worsening by the day,and speeches that are so boring and lacklustre--
he actully comes across as not really being interested! You really can't have faith in someone like that.

The trouble is. Unless we can find someone willing to stand against him, we can't do anything about it. But no-one with the neccessary experience and knowledge, to do a better job, was willing to stand against him.

It's no good one of us trying. What we need, is for one or more of the best Area Reps, to stand against him next time. Then we can "do a Keggie".
