in reference to what you were saying about a 15 mins change in the duties in your office i wouldnt think that would be a significant restructuring of attendance patterns to bring about a resign. the key word obviously in the agreement is SIGNIFICANT. In the agreement its stated that if an individuals duty has not had a significant change within it they are entitled to keep their duty out of the resign pot. the manager in your office shouldnt be asking for a vote on this anyway its the union reps job.

What do RMC bods think about the resign criteria fair or unfair.
Some mbrs in my D.O dont agree with people being allowed to keep their jobs in a resign.

Well the absolute fair way is for all duties to go in the pot - much easier when all the duties were full time but there are so many diverse part time duties it would be difficult to fit staff to duties. There is also the immutable fact that some duties will not be available for re-signs - what is required is a list of duties with the assigned hours, a list of staff PT seniority, FT seniority, those PT who wish to go FT should express a wish in writing to increase hours, there is a lot of work required before a repick can take place and some reps seem reluctant to become involved in the preparation - I suppose a ballot by the membership as to whether the repick should take place is the first step.Big Daz wrote:What do RMC bods think about the resign criteria fair or unfair.

I think TBH the overall criteria is fine but I do feel sympathy for those who are settled in their duty and are rightly concerned, and perhaps fearful of change which is understandable. Those who have valid reasons to have their duty ring-fenced should always have the opportunity to apply for this, and those who have not should be given the opportunity and time to apply once they understand the criteria. However, once this has happened then all duties, unless there is a very strong operational reason to exclude it, must be entered into the Pot.
I think things that would alleviate the fear of change would be as follows:
1. Suspension of lapseing to allow duty holders to bed into new duties.
2. Training on new walk from previous holder - a minimum of 2 days.
3. Where possible PTs given chance of OT on IPS whilst changes bed in.
However, this requires management and Unions working together which is not the current ethos of RM is it.
