Maybe I'm missing a brain cell or two, but surely we don't get paid our days off !!! In my office / Regional Distribution Centre, it's straightforward what the position is, I believe.
If your normal working week is Monday - Friday, Saturday & Sunday are not days that Royal Mail pay you for. If you work on those days, you claim it as overtime. So if you're on strike on any of your contracted days, you lose that day's pay ... unless you are on leave, on a Comp Day, or off sick. If the strike day is a Saturday or Sunday, you don't lose any pay (yes I know it's highly unlikely a strike day would be scheduled for a weekend)
If your normal working week is Tuesday - Saturday, Sunday and Monday are not days that Royal Mail pay you for. You get paid for the 40 hours you worked that week. So if you're on strike on any of your contracted days, you lose that day's pay ... unless you are on leave, on a Comp Day, or off sick. If the strike day is Monday or Sunday, you don't lose any pay
and so on and so on ...

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.
