NOTICE FOR LOCAL DELIVERY REPS
Over the last couple of weeks reps have reported that in some locations management have introduced a blanket overtime ban.
We have made representations including reviewing those units - including levels of sickness, vacancies, adverse weather and current against normal levels of overtime.
This has helped resolve several units, alongside the work that is being done at local, area and divisional level.
If local reps believe that overtime has been banned in their unit then this should be raised immediately in the first instance with the Area Reps and Divisional Reps.
If this still does not resolve the problem then it should be raised Nationally.

I Wrote-During Covid-Which is still relevant now
It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

Re: overtime ban
How many DOs even have a local rep? The last time the list of all reps in all positions in the area covered by our MC was put up, over 75% of DOs didn't have a rep.Londonsburning wrote: ↑02 Mar 2025, 16:32I wonder how many local reps actually care about this?POSTMAN wrote: ↑01 Mar 2025, 20:22Post by POSTMAN » Tue Jan 21, 2025 3:57 pm

Re: overtime ban
Our DO has a blanket ban on OT for mail.
The only OT you can get is afternoon parcel delivery.
My duty has gone uncovered for weeks on my day off but if I come in my day off I can't cover it.
I have to scan parcel delivery routes going out and take out one after 2pm.
In the 9 months I've been covering this I've never not cleared it, that's all mail and packages.
Since the OT ban some loops are getting 3 days mail.

Re: overtime ban
We can only book overtime if we have double mail.
If we try we just get told we have to bring it back and finish on time.
Union Rep in our office seems to be fine with this situation.
