Monthly Pay - a deafening silence ?

Did the dispute involve the office staff, or are their pay and conditions separate from ours, like Parcel Force, and Post Office Counter staff.

Here at the MDEC, we have been monthly paid since it began. I was also monthly paid on my previous job before joining RM.

However, my understanding is when we all retire on what little is left from the pension fund, our pensions will be paid monthly (feel free to correct me if I'm wrong about any of this)

Therefore under the pension cuts, people do at least have another 5 years of having weekly pay before having to adjust to monthly pay!!

I agree with you dvbuk55, we should cut our cloth accordingly, we should not be spending money we don't have, nor getting stuff that could be viewed as a luxury on tick and pay on the never never, although i feel that i am entitled to have my money asap especially as it is my money.
We now live in an age where it is possible to pay someone on a daily basis, say work monday on your duty and do their SA later in the day and e-mail all this info off, tuesday at midnight money goes in for wednesday morning.
i can well imagine how this is going to get pulled to bits but in its simplest terms only anomilies to will need to be altered ie overtime or duty changes incuring an alteration in shift premium.

Hourly paid workers could, not that long ago claim their wages daily under the Truck Acts - they were repealed by the Tories under Maggie Thatcher. As far as I am aware they don't actually need your permission to pay you monthly - it might be meet to have agreement BUT - it could go to consultation tee hee.
