I've got a letter through from rm solicitors plus a letter came through from acas today . Plus I'm seeing my area rep tomorrow to see how we proceed . I will fight there decision in my previous post I was just feeling negative about the situation . But you guys r right I need to keep fighting

I was told they dont like dealing with acas and its normally they who do that if you initiate negotiations about a settlement.

And a conciliator will be in touch in due course. . To discuss my claim and to explore th e possibility of a settlement , so I'm not taking the piss . I can assure you

Jayfin the taking the piss jibe wasn't directed at you.
You have recieved the standard letters you get when you start an employment tribunal claim,namely the letter off wankmans gleefully telling you they have been instructed to represent Royal Fail and the standard letter off Acas that they have been appointed by the tribunal to explore the possibility of a settlement.

Wankmans only deal with Acas when it suits them, i.e when they want some information that you are unwilling to supply to them, be very careful what you say from now on even to Acas,they will not try and settle until much nearer the tribunal date as they like to make people sweat it's called brinksmanship.

Read a few of yours Red robbo regarding ET's and although you are corrrect with some points the costs of £20,000 above are rubbish.

google tribunals and somewhere on the net there is a breakdown of how many cases are awarded costs against the claimants.

its something like 0.47% of cases.

for some reason weightmans havent sent me any threatening letters.......dunno if they have been ordered to stop doing it.

Your right, they normally send a letter saying you have no grounds and they will pursue you for costs, its a threat to get you to drop it. Standard letter which some solitors send.
