Good evening. Is there a process of holding a no confidence vote for a sitting Rep?
Ours refuses to do gate meetings, gives us no updates (I use this site for what little updates we do get from above)
He spends most of the time cosying up to management or his clique of friends
The unit is going through a ton of change (away from ODM) - all agreed by the rep as a "trial" that stays e.g. Start/Finish times
They are clueless on how to throw in a disagreement or something basic and fundamental as the IR Framework.
How do we go about getting rid of them

Ask your Branch.
The societies of consumption and squandering of material resources are incompatible with the idea of economic growth and a clean planet.

Re: No Confidence in Rep
You need to consider that your rep is doing what the CWU tells them to do. The training for local reps is abysmal and the CWU leadership will not allow political and industrial fighting back independent reps. In fairness the myriad of agreements and processes makes it nigh on impossible for a local rep to defend the members. Dont forget the local reps have to fight for every minute of paid release they get, unlike the full time release mob.Gingerbread Fred wrote: ↑15 Mar 2026, 20:29Good evening. If you are still unhappy then ask the branch to arrange a meeting of the members to discuss what's going on. Get your numbers together. The branch will close ranks and do everything to defend the rep. Its a self serving domain where they are protecting their own little empires. The CWU is an awful trade union.

Re: No Confidence in Rep
Have to agree since they sold off the residential Alvescot lodge and use the Mail Centre for training
, the quality of reps is non existant.

Re: No Confidence in Rep
Do you have someone who is willing to replace the rep? No point in going through the rigmarole of getting rid if there's no-one willing to step up.Gingerbread Fred wrote: ↑15 Mar 2026, 20:29Good evening. Is there a process of holding a no confidence vote for a sitting Rep?
