Loads here. More practical near to the office due to pedestrian areas, parking restrictions etc.

We've got some, obviously closest to the office, it's an "old skool" DO in the town centre so ideal for the shopping pedestrian area.

Theres rumours of them splitting up a local van share and creating more hct duties along with a parcel duty I suspect this is connected with them forcing in odm so there's a parcel duty ready for the days when all mail doesn't go but management are the usual saying they don't know, maybe they don't and are kept in the dark like us.

Been on an HCT duty for 4 years, personally I think there should be more. Working alone and Zero large parcels. Happy days.

:shhhhh Don't say it out loud or they'll direct all their sadistic energies toward screwing it up
Any Questions?

That will be real fun, most HCT duties have 800 plus delivery drops in my office! Missing delivering a days 2nd class Mail and d2ds will not work due to amount of workload already existing. But hey ,what do we know.

HCTS should be easier on your back etc , or are they not too bad? Might have to look at that if this disgusting mess gets put in

It can give you backaches if you have to push a full one a long distance to the start of your duty. Also, no cover from this depressing weather. But yes, you are solo with no oversize, so swings and roundabouts.

HTC put in the back of the van and dropped at the start

That’s how it should be, but not been the case for me in the past.

We used to have one like that it was basically a long road approx 2 miles, houses along the way with a new estate at the end so you got dropped off at the end and worked your way back to the office, it got swallowed up into other duties a few years ago.

Guidelines under P&L were up to 1 mile self-propelled to the start of the duty, accelerated by van if greater than that. I believe the latter is uncommon as the logic is you're already committing a van for conveyance and parcel support, so might as well make it a driving duty.
