A lorry trailer caught fire in Baginton.

The drama began when an articulated lorry trailer caught light at the Parcelforce National Hub in Siskin Parkway West on the Middlemarch Business Park in Baginton on the afternoon of Friday December 30.

Staff at Warwickshire Fire and Rescue Service control had a 999 call from workers on the scene at 3.46pm.

Three fire engines were sent to the scene, two from Leamington Fire Station and one from Binley Fire Station.

When the trailer caught fire it was very close to the warehouse putting staff and buildings at risk. To stop the fire spreading to the building the trailer was moved to the middle of the yard.

Firefighters using breathing apparatus, lights and cutting gear tackled the fire with water hoses.

Crews were at the incident until the middle of the evening making sure the fire was properly out.

The lorry trailer is one of scores taking and making deliveries to the hub every week.

The Parcelforce National Hub receives parcels from all around the country before they are sent out to one of Parcelforce’s 54 depots to be delivered to homes and businesses. The Parcelforce International Hub is based on the same site.

Apparently yes, we even had a customer on here asking what had happened as they had been advised by PF to contact the sender and didn't know why.
