Dear Colleague

Agreed Joint Statement Parcelforce Worldwide and the CWU on Stage 2 of the 2011 Past and Continuing Reward Agreement

Please find attached an agreed joint statement in relation to discussions that have taken place regarding the Stage 2 lump sum payment of the above agreement.

Branches will note that the £400 lump sum payment is paid in two payments, the first of which will be paid in the February 2012 salaries for our members within Parcelforce Worldwide.

I apologise if there has been any confusion caused by the late notification of this information however the reasons for this were that we were continuing to discuss with the business the progression of initiatives to ensure that the second £200 would be paid to our members in their March 2012 salaries.

These discussions took longer than anticipated but have now been concluded and the joint statement attached to this LTB confirms the payment details to our members in Parcelforce Worldwide.

Branches are requested to ensure that this LTB is circulated to all appropriate representatives and that our members are made aware of this communication.

Joint Statement between Parcelforce Worldwide and the CWU Regarding Stage 2 of the 2011 Past and Continuing Reward Agreement


The 2011 Past and Continuing Reward Agreement carried the following statement:

‘The target for an unconsolidated lump sum per person, pro-rata to less than full time staff, is £400 that could be achieved at incremental stages but both parties recognise that this is dependent upon the additional initiatives identified being able to deliver savings/benefits, which would be shared, to support this payment’.

Parcelforce Worldwide and the Communication Workers Union (CWU) are pleased to confirm that following continuing discussions under Stage 2 of the agreement regarding the progression of the initiatives agreed in October, that £200 of the lump sum element will be paid in February 2012 pay. We agree that as sufficient progress has been made overall and coupled with the outstanding performance achieved over the peak period, it is agreed to release the part payment of the non consolidated lump sum.

The principle of the lump sum element of the pay deal was to share in benefits when the savings had materialised. Both parties have reviewed the progress that has been made against each of those initiatives and we are continuing with important discussions both finalising current and also scoping further initiatives on the Progressive Agenda. As a consequence we are also pleased to announce that we have agreed sufficient progress on further initiatives to enable us to confirm that the balance of the outstanding lump sum payment, i.e. £200, will be paid in March 2012 pay, thus completing the outstanding £400 from this year’s pay deal.

Both parties are committed to a period of intensive activity to ensure that the full benefits of these initiatives are delivered in a timely manner.

Was told yesterday that this had been confirmed and would be paid at the end of the month. However, this info did come from a manager so..............

No it's 100% true we will receive the other £200 in the pay packet on the 30/3 :nana
