Bully & harrassment

Post by icarus1211 »

Would like your opinion on the above subject.

1 Do you think RM pay a lip service to the above
2 Do RM treat all cases the same or is there one law for posties an one for managers
Speaking from a personal point i know that Rm will do their best to sack a postie ,an cover up
for a manager unless there is a level playing field we will never get JUSTICE

The conduct code & B&H procedure is seriously flawed and one sided.
It is open to all kinds of abuse.
This ain't no baseball game, you get only one chance and you blew it.

Speaking from my own experience middle/senior managers who commit Bullying and Harassment but 'get the job done' by using these tactics will be left alone until they either become a total embarrassment or a complaint is made and substantiated. When this happens the culprit is normally 'moved on' to get results by similar means somewhere else.

Thames Valley as a region has the worst record in the country and following an identical trend also has the highest number of staff off with work related stress. I have personally seen managers talk to and treat other managers in a way that would not be tolerated anywhere else. When a manger wants to victimise a direct report he has a superb armoury at his disposal not least of which is the PDR process which is almost impossible to appeal against without taking out a grievance in which case the employee is tagged a 'trouble maker' and finds it almost impossible to move away from his tormentor ... Catch 22 damned if you do Damned if you don't.

We all know it goes on and with less jobs will get worse with the old boys network and jobs for the boys. In the case of Thames Valley it filters down from the very top.

5. The interim agreement also includes commencement of a new project, which is committed to bring about positive workplace cultures in every office and improve long-term industrial relations to bring stability.
Again, this project will be supported by independent experts and will allow us to address the bullying culture that exists within the company.
How is that going?....anybody?
Must be a top secret/need to know/hush hush..."if i tell you i have to kill you" type of new project. :cuppa

Again, this project will be supported by independent experts (Paid for by RM ... U tell me where their loyalty will be ?) and will allow us to address the bullying culture that exists within the company (Final sentence SPOT ON !).

I dont think Thames Valley would hold a candle to Northern Ireland I have heard some horror stories coming out of there, but your right about one thing .they all
band to-gether and will pull every trick in the book to get their cronies off the hook.
If we tried that outside of work we would be put before the courts, an put away

managers

When do you think Moya will wield the big axe and cut managers jobs think of all the money she would save
give it to the people who are keeping royal mail going.

I have seen a manager who is responsible for three people,no wonder we are in dire straits {money 4 nothing}

I work nights at exeter mail center and there was a couple of boxes of letters left on my machine. The letter porter was too busy talking and sucking up to the managers to take it.the next day i got the blame for this even though i was working my nuts off to clear our dispatch and i stayed in for fifteen minutes unpaid. I was told by acting manager that the shift manager was angry with me and i was to blame. So later when we stacked our manuel boxes on the machine i made a large notice saying manual letters next to the box. The shift manager came over and shouted childish at me and threw the notice down the machine. He has been funny with me ever since.

Sorry about the rant but it enoyed me because i stayed on all week beyond my time to help out and there are alot if people who do not work but nothings said to them. I feel i get picked on by managers because im quite and i respect them and i always do what they say. All i want to do is my job at the best of my abilities and go home without any of this noncence. I wish managers would treat me with the same respect rather then a load of little hitlers
