Following is a post I found on one site no advice required I just thought it sums up how RM deal with people.

A theoretical question on behalf a friend. Let's call him Mr. Snrub.
After a very long time out of work he attended a job interview for one of 15,000 temporary Royal Mail posts sorting the christmas mail. My friend has no problem doing repetetive work and is actively looking forward to the job, outwith any huge relief he would feel at finally, finally being back in work, however temporarily.
The (remember, entirely theoretical) problem is this. The "interview" he attended turned out to be nothing of the sort. He attended the Britannia Hotel in Manchester at his allotted time of 11am last Friday. There he met a Royal Mail recruiter who checked through all the paperwork he hade been asked to provide. There were no questions asked by the recruiter and it appeared to my friend that all those who turned up had been pre-selected.
This was confirmed for my friend when the recruiter explained that while normally she would have given him his induction date there and then, for some unexplained reason they were going to issue this vitally important information not in person or by email (as every other aspect of the apllication process had been) but by mobile phone some time "fhfvkhvnmlcmlx".
My friend thinks she said "some time that day" but he was very nervous and now can't remember clearly what she said. She was explicit however in warning my friend that he was to not miss the call under any circumstance as they would not leave a message and would simply move on to the next name on the list.
This huge and unnecessarily cruel seed of doubt planted in my friend's troubled mind then grew into a beautiful crazed-fear blossom. So much so that he remained in town until 5pm carrying his mobile in his hand and barely put the thing down over the next weekend and into today. The damn thing is still within reach now at 1400 hours.
Bearing in mind this is all theoretical, so never mind the crazy, eh? My friend is thus faced with this theoretical dilemma.
Do you reckon he's got the job? Or can he just shoot himself in the head after being rejected for yet another minimum wage job now?
Given that there were a few hundred "interviewees" on the Thursday and Friday and they didn't stop seeing people til around 3pm, there is the odd chance in 15,000 that they have merely not got round to making the call yet.
Also, there is the slight possibility that the recruiter didn't even say "today" and meant a vague, undefined point in the near future.
He can't relax though, because he doesn't know if he's good to carry on waiting or whether he should be desperately trying to find a contact number, email address, real life address to find out what's going on?
Theoretically he's going nuts.
