Sick Absence

Sick Absence

Sick absence is trending downwards (which is encouraging) but it still significantly above last year. 7.61% last week, the lowest level since May '21 but around 2% higher than the same week last year.

Every 1% of absence costs us £1.9m, so about 0.3% profit. Historically between 2016-2018 we had c.5% sick absence, getting back to those levels would increase our profit by c.1% to close the gap between where we are and where we need to be.

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.
My BFF Clash
The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

2016 to 2018 ?? Not quite so busy then, Mr Barnes as it is now and has been for nearly 2 years now it been relentless
If you keep asking for more and more, sooner or later their is a price to pay
Royal Mail Parcelforce ageing workforce tiring, longer hours/duties heavier traffic etc
You do not need to be Einstein to work out -only one outcome and it staring you in the face re your graph
Mr Barnes !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Often asked myself in general
What in life has to delivered in 24 hrs other than vital medical/legal equipment
We got use to waiting now re Covid-and that will continue for some time I feel
Maybe all Delivery organisations should adapt/improvise and public accept with no issues at all
