Dear Colleagues,

Reduction of Hours Romec in Parcelforce

Romec have contacted the CWU this week informing the Union that Parcelforce have downgraded the terms of their contract with Romec for the cleaning of their buildings to that of Bronze status.

As a result of this action by Parcelforce, Romec have intimated that they intend to approach our Romec Cleaner Members on an individual basis in an effort to encourage them to reduce their contractual hours. Des Carney, National Romec Cleaner Representative has re-affirmed to Romec that our agreed position is that agreed hourage is based on the measurement of buildings and not on the Gold, Silver, or Bronze standards and as such the reduction of hours is not applicable in this case.

We currently await written confirmation from Romec that the agreement between the company and the CWU will be honoured and applied in all cases, but in the meantime, we would ask that Branches should be vigilant in this regard and report any such instances to CWU HQ or the appropriate Regional representatives without delay.
