They are struggling to recruit owner drivers anyway .
At present the routes are too large and there are too many large overweight parcels .
The 1 hour delivery time windows are mostly unachievable .
98% of parcels are proof of delivery open doorway (cannot be left any safe place ) so there is a high return to depot rate .
All the above puts owner drivers off and the go work for yodel who handle much smaller parcels .
I agree with the statement that we should integrate with royal mail and take items above shoe box size which would lead to smaller routes and cost savings .
Owner drivers in there scruffy clothes and dirty old white vans add nothing to the company and should all be dismissed .

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.
