So our manager at parcel force Leeds depot has just informed the shift that the dinner time length has been reduced from 40mins to 30mins by the industrial engineer
Is this happening everywhere?
Is this allowed?
Should we receive something in writing?
Can anyone help?
Any info would be greatly appreciated
Thanks

Re: Parcel force night shift dinner time length
Emboldened by a Tory government that is determined to return to "Victorian Values", our wonderful, caring Employer is going out of its way to destroy everything that has been achieved by workers over the last 100 years.
"Quiet quitting" is an option to fight back, extended toilet breaks, late back from any breaks (doesn't need to be long - just the odd minute here and there), slow sorting rate.
Just small things, but taken together by a determined workforce they soon mount up into significant time losses, probably more than the breaks they are deterring to take away.

Re: Parcel force night shift dinner time length
I don't know where I read it but I do believe that if a practice that is part of your working day has been in place for more than 24 months then it is deemed as part of your contract of employment and can't be removed just like that.
Things like this will have to be negotiated (with a possible buy out if this was to come about).
Meal breaks are part of our agreements and can't be changed at local level.
