Parcelforce : PHOTO ON DELIVERY QUALITY

PHOTO ON DELIVERY QUALITY

We replaced signatures with Photo-on-Delivery in July 2021. Photo-on-Delivery is now mandatory for all deliveries. The quality of the photos we capture is key to providing our customers with proof of delivery. Poor quality photos drive customer complaints, enquiries and delivery disputes.

A sample of 540 photos have been used to check our current levels of compliance. From this sample, 60% of photos were compliant with 40% non-compliant.

Process Reminder
Place the parcel on the doorstep
When the recipient answers the door, take a photo of the parcel and the open door. (we must not take an image of recipient or anything that provides information about a person)
Hold the device still to enable the camera to focus
Keep the device steady until the next screen appears to prevent blurred pictures
Ask the recipient to confirm their name and enter into device (there is no need to pick the parcel back up) The name entered into the device should be the name the recipient provides you with – this is not always the name on the parcel
Press done at the delivery point to capture accurate GPS to support delivery

Non-compliant trends
Door not open in picture
Door not visible
Parcel not visible

Here are some typical examples of non-compliant photos which were found through sampling:

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

That first picture looks like a murder scene, a big stain on the front mat and CSI style clothing worn by the person answering.

PHOTO ON DELIVERY QUALITY

The quality of the photos we capture is key to providing our customers with robust proof of delivery. Poor quality photos drive unnecessary enquiries, customer complaints, delivery disputes and ultimately compensation claims.

A sampling exercise was completed during March to check our current levels of compliance. From this sample, 68% of photos were compliant with 32% non-compliant. This is a 20% improvement from previous compliance results, however these numbers remain too high and we have some further improvement to make.

Process Reminder

• Place the parcel on the doorstep
• When the recipient answers the door, take a photo of the parcel and the open door. (we must not take an image of recipient or anything that provides information about a person)
• Hold the device still to enable the camera to focus
• Keep the device steady until the next screen appears to prevent blurred pictures
• Ask the recipient to confirm their name and enter into device (there is no need to pick the parcel back up) The name entered into the device should be the name the recipient provides you with – this is not always the name on the parcel
• Press done at the delivery point to capture accurate GPS to support delivery

Non-compliant trends

1) Door not open in picture
2) Door not visible
3) Picture is blurred

Here are some typical examples of non-compliant photos which were found through sampling:

PHOTO ON DELIVERY QUALITY - APRIL RESULTS

Sampling completed during April highlights that our photo quality has deteriorated. From this sample, 58% of photos were compliant with 42% non-compliant.

The quality of photos we capture is key to providing our customers with robust proof of delivery. Poor quality photos drive unnecessary enquiries, complaints, and delivery disputes.

The current trend is evidenced in the pictures below. Photos must be captured with an open door.

By following the photo capture process, we can reduce complaints and provide our customers with a quality photo on delivery service.

Hi manager peeps ( if your reading)

The problem is 50% of people stick thier heads out of the window and shout leave it on the doorstep im changing the baby/ having a shower/ with the mrs so this puts us in the awkward place of having a confrontation of telling people to get off thier lazy fat asses and open the door else we.re taking the parcel away, which isnt really good customer service and wont help with super sis mission of 100% delivery. ( oh btw pay rise not pay deal)

Or the 50% that have ‘Ring doorbells’ which I try to duck under to avoid the inevitable ‘put it in the blue bin’ ‘leave it round the back’ ‘try numbers 24, 25, 26, 27, 28’.
Every day another hurdle 🙁🙁
