Most would love the chance but Royal Mail are offering very few full time contracts. In fact it seems that when a F/T postie goes they are replaced by a PT most of the time.

Ask your DIM if you can change to a P/T contract ( I saw an advert for PT staff in Wales with contracts for 1 hour's work a week ), let's say 30hrs p/w and see how much your pay drops, even if you keep to your regular hrs by booking docket - and don't forget, all that docket you do is not, repeat not pensionable. After doing that for 3 months ( fair amount of time to get the full flavour of the experience ), ask your DIM for your old contract back......and try not to cry when he laughs in your face and walks away.
BTW, I am a part timer on a full time walk....and I've been asking for FT since I got it 9 months ago, hell, I'd even accept an increase in my hours to accurately reflect the work I put in....until then, if they want me to do any more docket to do my whole walk, they can whistle "Dixie"

I've managed before and quite frankly seeing my managers run about like headless chickens I'd imagine my 10 year old would do a better job . In my office we now have an extra manager and things are getting worse with some people not knowing either what duty they are on but also not knowing what time to arrive in the morning (several being late/early).
I'm preparing myself for the zombie invasion, rule number 1 - Cardio

Mines rarely there, gets in late ,finishes early ,f***s off nearly every day for doctors ,personal ,car repairs frequent area meeting stuff. don't know the walks ,trolley/ drop bags/bike/ van?
