It's literally in their company title, parcels. Some of the stuff we get through as "RM tracked" that clearly should've been Parcelforce is nuts. (I mean items so large only 1 fits on a York. Way above our supposed limits.)
Baffles me why they want to make an RM afternoon shift of parcels when... we have Parcelforce. Like, what the actual f**k?

The size limits seem to go out of the window when it is a tracked return.

Yeah, the only limit I've seen enforced even slightly is "If it can't fit on a york, the lorries won't take it" and eventually, one will take it, though many will refuse.
Still remember delivering a gazebo, thank god the recipient was in, didn't want to load that thing ever again.

Sorry I should have expanded on that, if it’s over 20kg it’s an assisted lift, and because we don’t have any equipment in the vans a parcel over that weight wouldn’t be handled unless it was a paired van, but all of our business walks are solo jobs so generally it’s not handled in the first instance.SpacePhoenix wrote: ↑13 Dec 2024, 07:33Tracked weight limit is 30Kg if it's a business sending a Tracked itemBarnacle wrote: ↑13 Dec 2024, 00:1820kg for RM, 30kg for PF.Sean06 wrote: ↑12 Dec 2024, 22:55You do know rm limit is 30k.R5001 wrote: ↑12 Dec 2024, 18:26This needed to be a thing a while ago. It's worse when they're in one of the correx sleeves as you have to lift it out of the sleeve yourself before anyone can get to it to help youBarnacle wrote: ↑14 Dec 2024, 23:26Sorry I should have expanded on that, if it’s over 20kg it’s an assisted lift, and because we don’t have any equipment in the vans a parcel over that weight wouldn’t be handled unless it was a paired van, but all of our business walks are solo jobs so generally it’s not handled in the first instance.SpacePhoenix wrote: ↑13 Dec 2024, 07:33Tracked weight limit is 30Kg if it's a business sending a Tracked itemBarnacle wrote: ↑13 Dec 2024, 00:1820kg for RM, 30kg for PF.Sean06 wrote: ↑12 Dec 2024, 22:55You do know rm limit is 30k.R5001 wrote: ↑12 Dec 2024, 18:26This needed to be a thing a while ago. Re: Merging with Royal Mail
I believe ParcelForce will likely turn into an afternoon job. PF is currently geared around time-sensitive items - I saw one out on delivery at 0830 last month when we didn't hit the streets till f***ing noon. If they're going to be handling our parcel stream then it's not going to be in their hands till that late too.
The machine stops.

Re: Merging with Royal Mail
PF is a joke to me at the moment. I paid £15 ish for "Express 24" and dropped off the parcel Friday 3rd Jan in the afternoon at the local PO. I could not send it via RM because it was a too big (70cm in one measurement) and I'm not a business. Not very heavy - just a "little" bulky in one dimension.
So what does "Express 24" get you with ParcelForce? Well, SIX days later it still has not been delivered. Complete waste of money. Evri probably would have delivered by now but I just don't trust that lot - it's a mixed bag at best to me.
So Friday, Saturday, and Sunday NOTHING happened with the item - nothing logged as to it moving through the system. So now, SIX days after dropping it off, it MAY be out for delivery today, maybe?? "Express 24"!! Sorry, but it looks like a rubbish service overall from PF.

A better way would be to move the SDs over to PF, maybe even do away with SD and move that traffic over to PFMr Rush wrote: ↑07 Jan 2025, 23:48I believe ParcelForce will likely turn into an afternoon job.
