Deliberately leaving in walks to cut down on overtime

18 Jun 2020, 15:34

Obviously they are paired, so one day walk 1 is left and walk 2 is taken out, the next day walk 2 is left and walk 1 is taken out to cut down on overtime.
Area is not interested in the rep or dealing with it as he's got the hump with him.
psp is being fiddled somehow.
Cut-offs and left walks are not being reported.
Some south London managers are being investigated for related and unrelated s**t.

that could be any office at the moment. some duties are not going out for days on end. they are concentrating on tracked packets/reggies and leaving letters/flats if there's no time. packets are ridiculous. been busier than Christmas since March. no overtime at all.

plus they've got permission to fail duty plans from Ofcom for the time being.

the same in ours area rep knows our office rep knows and sees whats going on but dims just continue to do it , delivery loops mail and pkts, parcels are being left in and its not because posties wont clear , but they are saying we havent got the hours for you to complete your delivery , its a disgrace because if it was a postie leaving mail they would be throwing the WILFUL DELAY word about , but this is wilful delay on a massive scale . so do the powers above know what is going on then ?

The powers above couldn't care less as tis all about money, if they aren't worried then bring it back & go home on time, it's their problem not yours.

We should all know by now how Royal Mail works.
Manager A (up above the DOM) says there is no money to pay any overtime. Clear the Tracked and SD and fail the rest. The budget is paramount.
Manager B turns up (up above or same grade as manager A) and says you must clear. Quality of Service is everything.

DOM clears the office incurring extended claims.
Manager A pops back up saying no overtime is to be paid.
Manager B pops back up saying everything must be cleared.
Manager A never talks to manager B.

In order to try and keep both happy the DOM clears a bit and pays some extended claims. (Obviously tries to screw the part timers first)
This upsets both manager A and B who now agree that the DOM is useless. (Which to be fair he probably is but not as useless as manager A and B otherwise he would have been promoted)

And so it goes on.......

USO has been suspended; don't worry about it. It's probably been easier for us frankly, as there's no pressure to complete because they don't care about the letters.

It isn't really about whether they fail or not, it's about what they are declaring as failed.
Just because the USO has been suspended it doesn't mean your manager can declare the office clear if it isn't.

Is this only starting to happen in some areas recently? It's been going on from the start all over.

Walk left in yesterday, taken out today so that's 2 days mail delivered for the equivalent of a day's pay plus an hour o/t.

Our managers are useless but thats a whole other story.

We have 2 or 3 walks not taken out each day. We have two extra guys doing parcels while the walks are left. We can claim o/t to finish our duties but if we want to finish on time we leave loops in but all tracks / specials must be done
