How much do Royal Mail pay per mile?

Hi, I’ve been asked to work in a different office for 2 weeks it’s approx 14 there and back each day just wondering how much I get paid per mile.

It’s easier to not use your own car.
That way, they’ll stop sending you, you won’t have to chase payment for fuel, you won’t have Wear and tear on your car.
Tell them you won’t be driving there.

They will pay 45 pence per mile but they will deduct from those 14 miles the distance between your home and your contracted work place, so if your home is 6 miles return, you`ll get paid for 8 miles per day x 45 p.

And you also require business insurance to travel anywhere other than your regular place of work.

Never use your own vehicle even if you have the insurance required. RM are messing you about so you have to make it as inconvenient as possible for them with a view to stopping it happening anymore and certainly not on a regular basis.

Had a argument once with my dom about that. He tried using the excuse that I work for royal mail and my place of work is royal mail. I called him out on it rang my uncle there and then who works for a insurance company and he soon disappeared back into his office. Never been asked since to go to another office.
