Spare wheels

Post by trythat »

Any other office having trouble getting spare wheels? I think all the Ford Connect spare wheels haven't come back after punctures etc. They seem to be as rare as a Wii.

Makes it good though when you get a puncture, as the managers really panic. I phone up and say i have a puncture and the clock is ticking. I have left a van there before when my time is up I get someone to pick me up and dump the keys back office.

Could this be RMs way of saving money:

Spare tyre

There is no legal obligation to carry a spare tyre and it does not have to comply with the legal requirements while it is stowed away. However, when fitted to the vehicle (for example, following a puncture) it must then comply with the law. A spare tyre is not a testable item in the MOT test, though the examiner may draw your attention to an unserviceable item as a matter of courtesy.

We are having difficulties getting tyres for the combos (at least half the vans have no spare) and the Faits are even worse

Like I say to our manager we used to have 5 what were called slave wheels painted bright yellow, when you changed your wheel you put the spare on and put the slave wheel in the back of the van 2 days later the wheel you sent garage comes back and put it in your van and put the slave wheel back in the rack.
Now how hard is that, we have a van that gos the garage every day so WHY cant this happen

You can't change a wheel unless you have been trained.
