ADVERT FOR ROYAL MAIL MANAGERS
http://www.scotrecruit.com/cgi-bin/vacd ... rc=rss_jbe
The Royal Mail
Management Programme.
Fast Learner?
Good. Our business isn’t
slowing down.
Nationwide
£23,000 + benefits
It’s probably safe to say that the Royal Mail Operations Management Programme will offer you a challenge unlike any other.
You don’t need us to tell you Royal Mail’s been in the news. That’s because we’re going through a period of change - structural, cultural and commercial - more dynamic and far-reaching than at any other time in our history.
These graduate roles sit at the heart of our operations. Joining us as a work area manager, delivery manager or hub manager, you’ll have early responsibility for a team in a mail centre or delivery office. Right from the off you’ll be dealing with challenging, real-life situations. But once you’ve proved yourself here you’ll be ready to move on almost anywhere in one of the UK’s largest and most complex businesses.
As well as a minimum 2:2 in any discipline, you’ll need previous work experience gained with another employer, a placement or internship. Or maybe you’ve held a position of responsibility on campus. Above all you’ll have the confidence, authority and good people skills that enable you to drive through changes to help take us into the future.
Apply now, and if you are successful, we can offer start dates in February 2008.
At Royal Mail we take equality and inclusion seriously and are proud to employ a rich and diverse mix of people. This is why we encourage and welcome applications from all parts of the community, particularly women who are currently under-represented. We are positive about Disability.
Any takers

should have read thus:
HATCHET MEN/WOMEN REQUIRED
You will need to have no personality or people skills. An 'In your face' attitude is essential. Bad breath and Body Odour is desired although not essential.
This is a challenging role in the workplace, for those who have no soul (or preferably have sold it to the devil), no morals, and no common sense. The ability to think that everything is alright when it clearly isn't, and the belief that you are never wrong is essential. You should have previous experience in cost-cutting, right down to how many grains of coffee are in the cups in the vending machine. You should be prepared to do hard tasks such as 23 down and 14 across in the Sun Crossword. The desire to watch grown men and women cry as you pay them off for being ill is something that will be well rewarded, with a bonus of around £1000 per sacking.
Please send your CV to the above address, using TNT.
Tie break: In no more than 20 words: Adam and Alan are my friends because.....
We are an equal opportunity employer, although preference will be given to those who show the most ruthlessness to the interviewer, and especially to those over 40 and staying with their parents (living or dead).

No, they now like to take on graduates whose only experience of budgeting is blowing the student loan in the bar!!! Oh, & don't forget that they have no people management skills whatsoever, therefore they are more than qualified.k66yla wrote:I thought you had to be a failed postie or a ex union rep to become a manager.

Now I have nothing against graduates as a whole....I have a degree also....But here we go again with the "let's hire someone you knows jack about the job and stick them in places of authority" I have more respect for managers that come through the ranks and on merit than some twit with a 2:2 who they drag off the street and say "you'll do"

nobody mentioned the fact that you must have dreadful dress sense too. managers trousers can be bought ( buy one get one free) from the back page of a sunday paper tv guide or on the black and white advert section of the daily mail ect. on no account must your clothes match and you must convince the postal staff that you got dressed in the dark. if you turn up for work in a suit or looking remotely smart you will have postal staff thinking someone has died !
