London weighting in Ashford.

Post by Rumplestiltskin »

Hi everyone,
I'm New here, my partner has been a postie for 13 years.
We are moving from Dartford to Ashford to be near my family as I'm recently disabled, and my partner will hopefully be getting a transfer.
Does anyone know if any London weighting or additions are paid to wages in Ashford? Someone suggested today that he would be paid £70 less a week, and that sounds scary!
Any advice so gratefully received.
Thank you.

Your loose the London Weighting, I don't even think they get it at Medway.

Dartford is part of the London region but Tonbridge isn't.

A few rumours in this area about Ashford. Apparently they are losing their CSS operation (99%), and the office may be getting moved (nothing concrete just yet, but keeps cropping up).

But there are other offices in that area as well.

With regard to the OP, it is just the basics down here, but it is meant to be cheaper.

Does Medwey have enough capacity to be able to absorb all the sequencing work between their iLSMs/IMPs and CSS machines (do they have the room to have any extra CSS machines installed?)?

From what I've heard, Medway doesn't have the capacity for what they have at the moment. SNAFU comes to mind.

It is far to small for what they originally planned. Purpose built mail center that isn't fit for purpose.

Regarding Ashfords CSS, the last I heard (before Xmas) was their work would be spread round other MPU's and they still have Tonbridge.
