A Moral Dilemma: what would you do??
West Wickham delivery Office traditionally has the backbone of a jellyfish, anything the DIM says normally goes. So true to form 90% of the Office attended like good little postmen yesterday. They all went out on delivery leaving half a dozen walks not done. Once again they all turn up for work this morning and the DIM tells them that they had to do deliver the walks that hadnt gone out as well as their own!
SUDDENLY A BACKBONE IS FOUND AND THEY WALK OUT!!
This raises the following 2 questions:
A. is this unofficial industrial action and can RM throw the book at them?
B. If you were a rep and asked to help them what would your reaction be?
REMEMBER UNITY IS STRENGTH!

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

Thing that gets me is that they crossed the strike but when asked to do something they implicitly agreed with by not striking they then walk out. It not only shows lack of back bone, but complete selfishness and proves that they are the work-shy ones not us the proud strikers.
Should the Union help - regrettably yes as it is part of being in a Union and if the Union turn their backs on them, then they are only brining the Union down to their level. You have to have pride in your principles even if the result goes against the grain.

Lack of backbone
TrueBlueTerrier is right they are the work-shy ones and no Iwould not go out of my way to help them since they are strike breakers and by crossing the line agreed to do whatever they were told like the trash that they are

Quite right. Bollocks to them. That's the life they chose when they made the conscious decision to scab.glenfiddich wrote:seems to me that the penny has dropped with the staff that went in what flexibility means!
The Industrial Workers of the World. The union whose members never scab!

No thankfully I have a backbone and and a conscience. I was on the picket at nearby Beckenham when i heard about this one!!
I thought it just summed up the sort of selfish people that work in this industry who are making it more and more easy for RM to completely shaft us. They cant see the wood for the trees until it comes up and bites them on the arse!! like many of you i think they deserve to have their arses well and truly bitten and to be given a big wake up call....
And those same self centered peolpe are normally the ones who shout the loudest about "the union do nothing for ME!"
Well hopefully this time they will be right because i would not be giving them the time of day, instead i would be helping the ones standing shoulder to shoulder on the lines who do care about their colleagues and the furture of this business instead of what they can have now and for themselves.
