I Wrote-During Covid-Which is still relevant now
It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

Letter from MP
I did and got this reply:
Thank you for contacting me regarding the current Communication Workers Union dispute with Royal Mail.
Like you, I am deeply concerned about the way modernisation has been handled. The current dispute threatens to undermine a lot of the good work achieved over recent years.
The Labour Government bears a significant responsibility for the problems Royal Mail is facing, both here in ********
and across the country. Royal Mail has suffered due to a historic lack of investment. The latest Government scheme (announced in December) does little to remedy this. Indeed the majority of the £1.7 billion will be spent on continuing existing levels of subsidy and paying for the compulsory closure of 2,500 post offices rather than genuine investment for the future.
I fully agree with you that the CWU plays a key role and needs to be involved in modernisation discussions within Royal Mail. It's crucial that the pensions of workers are secure. It's also vital that the universal service obligation is not undermined by any changes in Royal Mail.
My colleague, Liberal Democrat Shadow Business, Enterprise and Regulatory Reform Secretary, Lembit Opik MP, has recently written to both Adam Crozier, (Chief Executive of Royal Mail) and Pat McFadden, (Goverment Minister responsible for Postal Affairs) to express our concerns over the current situation and we will be keeping a close eye on developments.
Thank you again for writing to me. If I can be of further assistance, on this or any other issue, please do not hesitate to get in touch.
