lose the lazy
every office has them, the t###s who think that they are being paid to socialise rather than work.
Its about time that the spineless managers did there job and either get them working or send em on there way.
If the managers actually did the job they were paid to do then the business wouldnt be in the state it claims to be.

The ones that really grip me are those that cannot seem to Talk and sort at the same time. They always stop sorting to have a chin wag. Multi task people its not hard just don't look at who your speaking to and fecking get on with the work like the rest of us.

we`ve got a few like this, they sort in the same place everyday, the managers know about it but do nothing.TrueBlueTerrier wrote:The ones that really grip me are those that cannot seem to Talk and sort at the same time. Re: lose the lazy
Yes, we've got the same. IPS is now optional in our office. If certain people don't wat to sort, they don't and no manager will say anything to them. On the other hand, those who are a bit consciencious can't go for a slash without being noticed. On IPS its a case of "same old faces", while the managers pets do as they like.the beautiful bd south wrote:every office has them, the t###s who think that they are being paid to socialise rather than work.

Great post. Furthermore the managrs can`t cope with the above so what chance they`ll 'manage' if flexitime comes in?the beautiful bd south wrote:every office has them, the t###s who think that they are being paid to socialise rather than work.

Re: lose the lazy
The thing that gets me is that these people will spend all the IPS time chatting, getting cups of coffee and popping round to their frame for the odd item and then when they go to their frames officially they work like the clappers with no delays to get out - not prepared to make a contribution to everyone elses leaving time but determined to make their own as easy as possible. Add to that the fact that we now have a limited number of full timers on IPS because so many are prepping for part times coming in late and it's obvious that we have no place for lazy bastards - come on managers - do your job and confront them or we might all follow their example.

Re: lose the lazy
Absolutely right. My office has some hard-core lazy bar-stewards who have been getting away with it since the day they joined RM. When a few of us brought this up at a WTLL session, one numpty manager said that 'if there's a particular job needing to be done to a tight deadline, and you were in my shoes, who would you approach to do the job? Someone who'll take ages over it, and probably sneak off to the loo etc, or someone who you can trust to do it?'the beautiful bd south wrote:every office has them, the t###s who think that they are being paid to socialise rather than work.

WTF ??
TRANSLATION: 'we know there are some lazy feckers, but it's so much easier to chase someone who's already working than it is to confront some arsewipe who doesn't deserve to keep his job'.
Two of the shirkers were on leave at the same time recently, and when the line manager was giving us the 'cost-per-item' statistics at our morning huddle, productivity went UP on the days the two divs were off. 'Nuff said ! We also have some guys on Lates who repeatedly refused to drive forklifts, so what did management do? Counsel them ? Conduct code them for refusing a reasonable request ? Nope, they got extra agency guys in, and trained 'em up on the forklifts. So when we're out on strike next week, thanks to the lazy prats and the weak managers, they'll be enough agency with the right skills to sort the mail and to load the lorries. What a ridiculous situation !!!!

Sorry Chaps
But that the way it is.
i myself am always on the ips, its a good time too chat union stuff!
but at the moment, nobody don't give two sh***s about the sorting.
we used too have everybody on the sorting (40-50) staff
your lucky these days to have ten and that's going down!
Every time somebody leaves, gets sacked, or drops their hours down,
we lose two staff off the sorting, the person who has left, sacked, or buy down and the person
who has too throw their delivery out.
SO we start sorting (supposed) 5am and most days we are on there until 6.45
You have too have a cut off time, other wise can't complete duty on time!
So the less sorters, the less that gets done, the less mail you take out!!!!
So why bother bothering about it, s**t happens, NO Point worrying about it!
But that the way it is.

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

We do the same everyday, not just before our day off.
And i clear everything off my frame when its my day off the next day!
The problem is that when you come back off your day off, you have too clear the mess up that the managers have left you!!!!
And that means the mail that's left and dealing with the customers, that they have feck up on!!!!!!
And OVERTIME IS STILL OPTIONAL !!!!!!!!!!!

Re: LAZY-COMMAND & IGNORE
Ages ago it said on the BBC News Site -in a rare moment of honesty !?? RM state they've a problem with a Command & Ignore Culture, a spokesman said many of our managers lack the skills to move our teams forward , if this is the case , we'll retrain our managers ; if that doesn't work we'll have to pay them up . This was way before Crozier said the bit to The Business Insiders Meeting about 1-3 of our Managers are below average .That upset the CMA ,they were bleating about all the sacrifices made to force through Major Change.vigilante wrote:BEFORE WE MOVED TO THE CATTLESHED, ONE OF THE OLDER BOYS USED TO GET HIS MISSUS TO CALL HIM THE SAME TIME EVERY
