Our DOM informed us all this morning (after both union reps had left the building) what our new start times will be from Oct the 8th.

MON - 0615 - 1430
TUE - 0615 - 1400
WED - 0615 - 1400
THU - 0545 - 1400
FRI - 0545 - 1420
SAT - 0545 - 1310

but all drivers will start at 0500 to make sure that all businesses that are delivered by a driver will still get their mail early.

I take it that applies to Part timers?

Which office in Glasgow are you in?

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

I asked the queston at our office meeting this morning, I'm on a 24 hour contract and was told that my start time will be 10.30am, in which I replied if that is going to be the case then I wont be staying for long, he said if I have any personal problems with this time then to speak to him nerarer the time and he will discuss them with me, I'm sorry but I'm not a lay about and would rather get another job that starts at say 7am and finish at a decent time than have my social life turned upside down my money grabbing bastar**, I joined on the basis that it would be an earlier start and earlier finish.
Also there is going to be a change for the Special Delivery times.

I dont agree that the just the business people should get there post early, everybody should get there post early, this will do nothing except push customers away, lose the company more money and make all us posties the bad guys as its us that have to face the public when they are asking us why we are delivering post at 2pm in the afternoon.

I'm on a 24/25? hour contract and if I am told to start any later than 8.30am I'm won't start at all. Rather get another job. :lfo :cfo

James, since you seem like the most sensible person on this site. How long would it take to become part of the union, if I start on Monday? Before the strikes, I hope...

Apparently as soon as you fill out the form you're done,sure i read that on here.
Fill one out as soon as you can,it will get sorted but don't worry the screws dont know who's in the union and who's not.
