Prep and tie up 2 duties..
just like to hear others thoughts on this.. a full-timer not doing any sorting and concentrates on prep of there own duty and a duty that a part-timer coming in at 9am to take out... I assume we will all be doing this when a lot of the mail is walksorted.. but at the min i find prep 2 frames frustrating.. and to top that its less people on the inward.. views? ps, we have to have the duty tied up for our drop bag man to take so more pressure.

yea thing is our drop bag men leave around 8.30.. its a nitemare.. but we will all be doing it soon ...you really have to keep at it to get it done...AndyK wrote:If i were asked to prep 2 duties the work would never get done!!, but if your posties do it then the dum will leave you to it best bet is to ask yourself how much harder your willing to work. at our office the delivery only duties are 25hr and do the tie job themselves.

THIS HAPPENS ALL THE TIME MAD WHEN THEY ARE SHORT OF STAFF OR SICKNESS.
THEY SHOULD ALWAYS HAVE COVER, BUT IT'S THAT OLD FAVOURITE WORD THAT KEEPS POPPING UP.
THE WORD OF THIS DECADE??---------------------------ABSORB!!

it happens at our place as well and today we failed big time. Rumour is that the area Manager will be implementing a recovery plan. That's easy bring in nights, employ more F/Ts make all walks 3.5 hours not 90% and the rest over. Actually we have just gone to a voluntary "withdrawal of goodwill" and 3 days later the place falls apart. A coincidence

Bringing in Nights would solve it but RM have been trying to cut nights in a DO from 7 years ago when i was in a DO....Now NO CHANCE!!! I feel the sorting mech in a DO will be a joke... Yeh they will lay in allsorts.... WOT ABOUT FLATS...? AND D2D?you still gotta break it down and every walk is done differently from postie to postie!!! Left handers ,, right,,, all sorts come of people being different... A MECH is just what it is.... No brain and dont have to prep or walk the bloody stuff round on its back.....#
RM WILL NEVER SEE THIS POINT... technology is king!!! people are dispendable!!!

we do it in our office.our floater over 5 walks is part time.so each guy on the 5 walks has 1 of the walks to put up a week.
we have to do the mail but no packets or redirections.
prt timers do that when they come in.
its a nighmare as were short of bodies so there are always extra walks to be put up.
i remember when you would be banging elbows at the primary, now your lucky if it is 1/3 full
