Agency staff

Post by zola4ever »

Over the last few weeks we've had a lot of agency staff at our D/O .We have approx 100 walks and at the moment we have approx 10 or more agency workers to cover leave and sick etc.
I understand the agency NOT the worker is being paid £ 28.00 per hour for every worker. However due to lack of trainng they are doing imo a piss poor job. Yesterday one postie opened his pouch box only to find some undelivered mail from Saturday ! Another case ..yesterday here in sunny Torbay it rained heavy all day (as it often does ) you had a case of an agency worker with very little training, no rain coat well to cut a long story short he posted a lot of very wet mail back, and quit.I dont think anyone was surprised.
If i didn't know better i would think that Royalmail are trying to run the service down in record time.

I'm afraid, zola, it's only to be expected of a business mis-managed by deluded morons.

I dont think the Agencys get that much,i would gues about £18.00 and the worker gets about £6 of that,a couple of Saturdays back it was to hot for the agency staff to deliver mail,a driver went to collect them and found them hiding under a tree out of the sun, they had'nt done the deliveries and our manager refused to sign their work sheets unless they came back on the Monday to do the rounds, last week some wernt happy to go out in the rain.

oh and yes i think the "powers to be"are trying to run the bussiness in to the ground.
dont permissum bastards frendo vos down

My place,2 agency staff for 1 walk so that's 2 x6=12hrs at agency rate

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

In the long term (I would think) it is cheaper for RM to employ agency, no holiday pay, no sick pay, no employer NI contributions no rights whatsoever. :mad :mad :mad

THE RACE TO THE BOTTOM....As ive heard and the CWU has been quoting for a while now is just as you say..
RM WANT TO RUN THIS SERVICE OF OURS. (THE PEOPLE) IN TO THE GROUND AND STAMP IT DOWN....

Then with goverment intervention and a backdoor privitisation they will bring this service out of the flames like a PHOENIX so they can then proudly say"look what we done, all without the cwu and there dreadful workers..." SO LETS ALL GET FATTER ON THE LABOUR OR THE EX WORKERS THAT NOW FOOLISHLY BELIEVE THEY HAVE A VOICE AND AN ACTION IN THERE LITTLE PART OF THE PHANTOM SHARES THAT THE GOVERMENT SO KINDLY GAVE US.... OHHHHHHHHH THANKS A FECKING BUNCH!!!! :Applause :Applause :Applause :Applause

BASTARDS!!!
