I can't sleep more than 4 hours and like to go out occasionally during the week so I have a couple of hours in the afternoon if I've nothing else to do and then off to bed at night between 11 and 12 to get up at 04:00 for a 05:00 start. Have a nice fresh brewed coffee - read RMC updates and have a shower - then off work feeling wide awake. Only takes me 8 minutes to cycle to the office but I could never get up at say 04:30 and arrive like a dogs bed.
We wish to serve - but we will not be servile

I normally go to sleep about 11.30 (pm that is) get up at 4, have to meet the crew bus at 4.30 for a lift in (another thing that will soon be cut to save money). If i'm lucky may get an hours nap in afternoon. I'm off to my pit in a minute, its been a very very long day.
So keep on moving, moving, moving your feet

Well I've decided now, even though its a saturday tomorrow and footy season starting I'm gonna stay up till the beers gone out of my fridge and wake up with a killer hangover, walk so slow on my 2 and a half rounds and get all docket I can for it, was looking forward to my day off but got a right kick in the knackers when I was told we were'nt striking so lets take them for all I can !!

I usually go bed about midnight. Supposed to start at 5am. My 1st alarm on my mobile goes off at 4am then got another 5 alarms ( 4 on phone the other main clock) going off till 0445 till Guns & Roses - Sweet Child of Mine goes off. The intro does my Mrs head in, but most days that alarms goes off on way to work. Over 11 years service and now getting used to 4 & 1/2 hrs kip

Around 12ish for a suppose 5 get up,which usually means 5-30ish and then a rush for a 5-45 start, office only couple of mins down the road.
And if there is an early postie that DOES NOT fall asleep in an arm chair if he's given 5 mins alone then he is a lieing basket!

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.
