Duty Rotates

Post by 539 »

Might be looking at some changes in my office shortly, want to get the boys and girls some better day off rotates as part of the deal.

Would be interested to know if anyone on here has something better than the current 5 day weeks or 1 week off in 6 in their office?

And if so could you explain how the rotate works, cost in terms of hours etc.

Wouldn't completely changing everything like that be hard work, also would DOM's be interested?

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

It will mean plenty of work mate however im under attack in a big way in my office im afraid i have to admit my duties are just too easy and are finishing to early so im looking at doing a deal. getting better terms and conditions i.e days off and in return getting rid of these pre midday finishes which are going to be under attack for the forseeable future.

Good luck,at least you're thinking straight, what do your mob think then of the impending changes then, are the spitting,or do they understand?
Mine are just worried about what time they get out of the door

Just curious John, what was you on before, the 6 day week like the rest of us?and how many jobs went when you changed over?

You see i wouldn't mind having some of that, but worried about the job losses.

We were a 5 day week office with 37 walks,4 night duties and 3 p.h.gs,If im honest we are very lucky to have what we got as the rep who done the deal pulled a few strokes. Its all about saving hours and i think the total savings were approx 120 hours give or take and it was enough to convince the area dom to let us go in.At the time they were up for any thing and were happy with what was being done.Dont ask me how, but they agreed to loose 5 walks, all the nights and a p.h.g.(my missus) and let us have a 4 day week.If the dom we have now was in charge then there is no way he would have agreed to it.Thank f--k he was'nt, still its what you can negotiate at the end of the day that matters, no one in our office lost there job and 4 people got v/rs when it should have only been 2.I think there are 2 other offices that are on 4 day weeks se5 and se27 is there any body on this site from there who can tell you what they done?
Job losses are inevitable its weather they are voluntary or compulsory im afraid to say
