Will full delay of mail

Hi all how many office's were told today no over time for extended delivery? well Totton was and as far as I'm aware (spoke to a solicitor) this amounts to will full delay as most were prepared to do over time to clear the office. Now this is a criminal offence and I believe is being looked into as I type by the local union reps. I can not see how there can be one rule for them and one for us. Our office is full of undelivered mail and packets were as on Monday after the Saturday strike we were clear at the end of the day !I just see this as punishment for striking and not in the interest of the public who as far as I have spoken to are behind us. Lets hope someone high up get knicked for this and it make the headlines :lfo :cfo

Our office was so bogged down that when the sweeper turned up(all 1st and 2nd class) we were told not to worry about it??...if thats not wilful delay what is?? a point i raised with acting dom who promptly copped a deaf'un and locked themself in the office.It's still there now waiting for tomorrow!!

I'm SURE THIS AMOUNTS TO AN UNLAWFUL ACT and as such should be looked into just think if you had left a first class letter in you frame !

Let face it although we are on strike (for the right reasons) we don't like to let the public down I work in a rural area and am on first name term with most of my customers and as such apologise for striking but most understand and now today having to apologise for the actions of management as to why their packet/letter has not arrive is just to much

In our office they were told no pressure overtime on day after strike, other offices in area have been told NO pressure overtime AT ALL. Mail mounting in them offices. Def should be wilful delay it would be if we didn't deliver mailsort, they have even been known to sack posties for D2D and dead letters, oh! how they move those goalposts

This is what was done by a lot of guy's today.We also had about twelve york's of mail untoched, but have been told it will be going tomm. I feel another cut-off comming on already oooooopppsssssss.

One rule for RM and another for us, generally on return any of who were on strike are told no OT, as other have said, I don't want to do OT, but I don't really want to bring mail back as doing a rural, you get to know an awful lot of people. Most have been very supportive once I've explained it's not about the money, but about what kind of service they might not have in 5 years time.

I know where your coming from as I've said am on first name terms with most on my duty and feel that I've let them down when I know that the packet or letter they have been waiting for is most likely in the office and I just can not carry all the mail out on the day. I do believe that RM just care about average Joe and are only looking at ways to make more profit !!! 92p as apposed to £380000 bonus biased on the same productivity !!!!!

why all the worry about wilful delay and stuff mounting up? Surely that's the whole point.I know it goes against the grain for most of us to upset our customers but unless they start aking where stuff is,no one will be interested.Most of my customers don't even know we're on strike! I haven't delivered any packets on my walk for a week now and I've just got around to the flats after only doing letters all week.The Dom said prep what you can up to your time then everyone out so no cutting off or overtime-suits me! It's been the easiest week for a long time.Today no packets got sorted at all or delivered by drivers on our division and we didn't sort todays mail until after we'd prepped and tied up,so todays mail may go tommorrow! YES let it keep piling up ,let the public be affected,let them start moaning to the papers and the Government then they might intervene and sort Leighton and Crozier out!

i agree with both points royal mail is helping the union out here its forcing people to work to there 318 when told by DUM this morning that there would be no claims for ext dly accepted today i asked the question does that apply to everyone was told that the 4 guys who came in yesterday could claim noone else

we nearly had a riot he soon changed his mind and banned ext dly for everyone
its disgusting that they have made this decision and i reckon someone should look into the legality of it
but like i said its pissed off the guys and made them work there 318 therefore creating a huge mail mountain
i also am a rural driver who has told all my customers that RM are not paying O/T today so they are lucky but they wont be getting any mail tomorrow as DUM informed all the guys who cutoff to make sure they deliver the area were mail was brought back from tomorrow so i imagine there be more cutoffs tomorrow just the begining of the round rather than the end
and will make sure the customers who didnt get there mail today will be told why
