It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

Cycle walks? I thought it was either HCT or CDV, what part of the agreement says cycle walks................I believe they may be used IN EXCEPTIONAL circumstances .............so what exceptional circumstances apply?shepherdess wrote:we are planning cdv and htc walks at 4.30 and still keeping some cycle walks at 3.30

Re: Revision:Walk spans
The plan is for 4 hour 50 minutes
and I'll believe that when I've done them. And that's for every duty- HCTs, van share, singleton vans.

Re: Revision:Walk spans
pegasus was used at our office. one of our guys who is a runner used his gps watch on his walk. it gives time, speed, distance and even the terrain. he got computer printout and presented it to computer man. No said the man, our computer is right and you are wrong. Ignoring the fact my colleagues stats were form the actual walk. As Arnie said in Terminator , machines have taken over

Re: Revision:Walk spans
by the way, you still can finish at 1415 after 8 hours we do not get sequenced so it takes hours to sort and leaves nothing like even 4 and a bit at longest for a walk. so cut off.

Re: Revision:Walk spans
I've seen people on several occasions wheeling their HCTs back to the depot at 4.30 pm and P&Ls driving back at roughly the same time. Though that is a bit deceptive because they have split duties, one prepares both deliveries and the other starts later does the P&L delivery and then returns to the depot with his partner, drops him off and loads up with parcels from HCT deliveries and delivers them. TBH I'm not sure what time the second guy starts but I think it's 8.30/45.

Re: Revision:Walk spans
We started ours today, Lots of walks have been changed, Prep took a lot longer
Our start and finish times are 6am-14.12pm
I got out at 9.15,
15- 20 mins cycle to Del Point, I finished at 1.45pm
Now our dom says 4hrs 10 mins del span, with 15 mins to get back to office,
My calculation is if we finish at 14.12 take of 40 mins M/R finish at 1.32 less 15 mins back to office for P739,
I reckon I went over by half hour, finish time should be 1.13 how much should I book just half hour or 45 mins as I went 15 mins into M/R, this was a light day and had hardly any packets or reg/recorded.
Quite a few came in early then they should do and some used there own cars still
Oh the Area manager made an appearence or i think it was him never seen him before.

Re: New revision:Walk spans
Hang on a minit. Cycles? I thought because of health & safety we wernt using them any more? The whole point of park& loop and HCTs is so we dont have heavy bags to carry or ride cycles on dangerous roads. Im so F--- Off I would consider transferring to another office if I got a bike duty again.
